8Realms was a PBBG from Jagex, makers of Runescape. It’s a empire-building sim where all players race through 8 ages of history to be the first to finish the future age. First to finish wins the round, and the server resets again at the beginning. The game has since closed.

Comment: Pretty nice game. But I personally think that Age of Empires is better then this one. Maybe a little unfair to compare it to that but it’s true. But this game is pretty nice though, and I like the colours in the game :S A 8/10 from me.

Not too bad for a strategy game, but this game is far from a success when it comes to the strategy genre. Probably not the worse game Jagex has ever made either (that honor would probaby go to Ace of Spades). I do admire that this game is browser-based (HTML-based to be more specific), but the graphics, even by 2011 standards, looks old and pretty bad, and I’m not a huge fan of isometric maps (which tends to be more common with older strategy games like Sid Meier’s Civilization). As for gameplay, I feel like it can be a bit too lax, not having much competitiveness. Overall, I’d rate this game a 2.3/5; Jagex should just stick to RuneScape.
