Sold Out has secured the boxed rights for Pixelbomb Games’ highly anticipated Mech-shooter, Beyond Flesh and Blood, which is scheduled for release on PC and console Q2 2016, at a boxed and digital price of £29.99.
Choc-full of mechs and old school gore, Beyond Flesh and Blood is an agile mech shooter set in the UK city of Manchester, in the year 2281. The game uses real-world city architecture for the dystopian world where humans have long since left Earth to live in orbit, watching the planet through mech and drones – and the only way to power these is through mind-fuelled VR.

Manchester-based Pixelbomb’s Managing Director, John Kavanagh commented, “We have a standout hit with Beyond Flesh and Blood. Our upcoming marketing campaigns clearly demonstrate our ambitions for the game, and the studio. This means that in order to maximise all revenues and plough funds into building the brand; no revenues can be left on the table.”
He continued, “Pixelbomb enjoys a direct-to-digital relationship with gamers, however, we know that significant numbers of consumers want a boxed version of Beyond Flesh and Blood. Sold Out is the natural choice of publishing partner, and we’re thrilled to work with the whole team.”
Beyond Flesh and Blood takes direct influence from its home city, and doesn’t skimp on the artistic details. “Drawing upon iconic locations in the city, it’s great to see buildings I recognise in their dilapidated and overgrown state. Anyone that knows this city will be impressed with the attention to detail in this harrowing, dystopian world” – said Sold Out’s Product Manager, Sean Labode.
Sold Out CEO Garry Williams continued, “Pixelbomb Games has highlighted its drive and ambition as a studio, and as developer, has been quietly building a top quality Mech shooter. Sold Out were blown away by Beyond Flesh and Blood at Insomnia56, and the latest version of the game has looked and played even better than we could ever have hoped to see. We just had to strap Sold Out’s boxed sales machine to their digital engine, as this unique Mech shooter is going to be one of the major releases of 2016.”
