One of the standout features of the Xbox Series X is the ability to play hundreds of games essentially for free via the Cloud store. At time of writing, my four-year-old nephew has played several different games via the Cloud Store. Some he has absolutely loved whereas others that initially appealed to him, did not occupy his attention for long when he got into the game. With that being said, the Xbox Cloud store has something for everyone. Whether you prefer to play retro games which were initially released on older consoles, party games, or anything in between, we are certain that you will find at least one which piques your interest.

So here we go, coming up are the GameOgre five of the best games which you can play on the Xbox Cloud store if you have bought the Xbox Game Pass.

Ben 10: Power Trip

An excellent game for anyone who is a fan of super-hero type games, Ben 10 offers players the opportunity to play as up to six different heroes as well as Ben. All six heroes are really just Ben in different costumes, but for all intents and purposes, they are separate characters. The superheroes can be unlocked by progressing through the game’s missions and they all come with unique abilities. For example, there is a speedster, a tiger which can climb and swing across obstacles and my particular favorite which utilizes fire as a weapon, he’s called Heat Blast.

Ben 10 is set in an open world which utilizes several different areas and cities. You can essentially choose which missions you want to complete, there are also side quests. The best way to quickly unlock all of the super-heroes is by completing the main missions. This game is primarily for children, but, in truth, anyone can play and enjoy this one.

Football Manager 2023

FootballManager2023

The first football manager game to come out on the Xbox for a long time, FM23 console is a streamlined version of the PC game. More chilled out than its PC counterpart, the console version can be downloaded via the Xbox Cloud store and offers players the opportunity to play online with friends too. Anyone who is not yet familiar with Football Manager games may struggle to get into this, as there is a steep learning curve to go through. However, there is a good tutorial, and it makes sense to play the console version first if you are a beginner, because there is a little bit less to learn. Additionally, there are plenty of beginners guides to FM23 which you can read for free online.

My personal favorite aspect of playing FM23 on a console is that it just feels more relaxed. It also allows me to get away from my computer (which is where I spend 8+ hours of my day working). So, if you are fed up with your underachieving club in real life, why not take them over and find out if you could do any better than them if you were the manager?

Halo Infinity

The most recent game in the Halo collection, Halo Infinity is an excellent game to play, especially if you have played and enjoyed any Halo games in the past. The missions are fun, albeit they are a little different from the past. Halo Infinity is set in an open-world, and you essentially get to pick and choose your missions. Missions vary, but often you will have to hunt down Covenant enemies.

Of course, Halo Infinity also offers a multiplayer option in some extremely active servers. Personally, Halo 4 is the last Halo online multiplayer I played, and I spent hundreds of hours playing that with my friends over Xbox Live. The Master Chief collection can also be played via the cloud store too.

Kill it With Fire

killitwithfire

Not exactly a game for any arachnophobes out there, Kill it With Fire revolves around finding various ways to kill different types of spiders in a variety of different locations. The objective of the game is to progress through the mission by killing a certain number of spiders. The first mission, for example, is in a house and it is up to the player to search the house to find different spiders as well as different weapons and tools which can be used to kill the spiders in the game. Weapons range from frying pans and guns to flamethrowers and vacuum cleaners. Each mission also comes with primary and secondary missions which are written on the player’s notepad.

There are various different types of spiders too, including exploding spiders, spiders who web you and even invisible spiders. There are also jumping spiders, which literally jump straight at the screen. It is possible to turn off the creepy spider noises as well as the spider’s legs. This is specifically for anyone with a fear of spiders who would still like to play.

Monopoly Deal

A stripped down and more tactical variation of the classic Monopoly board game, Monopoly Deal is a multiplayer game in which you must strive to make a total of three Monopoly sets to win. Up to four players are able to play a round of Monopoly Deal. There is a learning curve, but the game’s tutorial is very good and you will know what you are doing in no time.

There are plenty of different Monopoly themed games on the Xbox Game Pass including Monopoly Plus and Monopoly Madness. As it stands, the excellent Monopoly Big Baller is not yet available on the Game Pass but it is playable via online sites. Regardless, Monopoly Deal is lots of fun and is even available at most stores as a deck of cards.

The Xbox Cloud Store is Always Updating

Of course, new games are added to and taken away from the Xbox Cloud store/GamePass on a weekly basis. One of my favorite games is Bugsnax, unfortunately Xbox removed it from the Game Pass several months ago now. However, the good news is that anyone who does decide to purchase a Game Pass has a huge choice of games to play.

We hope that you enjoyed reading this guide to games on the Xbox Cloud Store. If you have any favorites of your own, please let us know in the comments.
