No Caps for Season 9

    Ok, going to go ahead and make it official, there will be no caps this time. That means go ahead and play without worrying about a troop cap like before. The number of players in a nation can evaporate if somebody gets into the stratosphere in terms of troops:).

    As I have said before, this will be more like the wild west:). Not going to worry about too many signing up for a nation, mystery players or anything else. The last few seasons have been too serious and have taken away some of the fun of the game as a result. Thus, this season will be wide open:).

    Everybody should focus on what they are doing themselves:). Might makes right sounds a whole lot better than complaining when its raining lol.

    Short of a hack or a bug etc that artificially distorts troops, going to leave it in the hands of the Ogres this season:). For example, not going to help a nation because they have a small number of players. Why? Because it just takes one break away player to turn the whole game if there is no cap:).

    I like no cap becouse people usually went over the troop cap... Well it surely makes OW more interesting.

    Agree with Aaddron, i think that even after 2-3m troops, gaining new troops and money will be so much increased, that if u dont play a day or two, even u get rly focused by some1, it would be so hard to get back on top. I think that it would be much better for game that limit was increased not removed

    As I have pointed out countless times before, the issue of permanent dominance once someone gets ahead is one of proportionality, that appears whatever the cap. Someone with 75% of your troop count will only make 75% of your base income, no matter what those numbers actually are. In fact, it only gets worse as the max troop value increases, since it also increases the maximum range of troops from someone at the bottom to someone at the top.

    However, that's not the point of this season. The point is to have no rules. Nobody can break a rule that isn't there. Nobody can complain about someone doing something they shouldn't when, in terms of in-game actions, there's nothing they aren't allowed to do. This season removes the hassle, the fussing, all of the tedium. People can either play and screw around and do what they want, or not play.

    Just to be clear on my previous post, I wasn't suggesting a cap be added. It was just meant as we could see this season get really messy as the cap served a purpose but as Pure said this season is the wild west so it is what it is. Have fun with it. :)

    Yes, and as I thought, some chose not to play. That is fine because I dont have the energy to go and PM somebody to play again lol. On a positive note, I credit the ones who did leave for not having to announce it like some have done in the past. Of course they will lose the medals and titles if they had any because they are not still playing, but I can respect the way they did it at least.

    Got burned out on being asked to play Sherlock Holmes for people worrying about everybody else and who might be a double etc. Took a lot of the enjoyment of the game at least from me. Was also not crazy about complaining PMs about either another player or the game itself lol.

    Anyway, that is why this season is like it is:). It is a game that should be played for fun. The best who keep playing will receive recognition like always.

    This time there is the added issue of improving the whole site. The developer who is helping me improve and rebuild it is pretty adamant about upgrading the forum so the exact future of Ogre Wars is not clear right now.

    Now that I think about it, I like having no rules now, actually. U play for fun and that's it. U shouldn't care for what others do, but look only to yourself. Guess u guys were right. :)

    Well, not entirely but almost. You should still see what the other players do in the game, since you'll still get attacked and attack others. This haven't changed. If you don't check what your opponents and your team members do, it can be quite hard to finish out on top when the season ends.
