Phone? Any of the top end phones will do it. Especially on the Android side since they all have big screens and huge specs. iOS side generally gets games first and has more exclusives so honestly an iPhone 6s+ is probably the "best". Just aim for high capacity storage and avoid 2k screens if possible because 2k screen + gaming = dead battery.

iPad Air 2 and iPad Pro would be the best tablets. Android tablet support is just terrible.

Android gimmick gaming devices... avoid. Android was made for phones with touchscreens. These devices are more annoying than fun.

The best mobile gaming device by far is 3DS (and Vita but Sony is dead to me). I love my 3DS, it's super comfortable, it's designed for ALL it's games, has a huge catalog and almost none of the games will nickle and dime you like practically all the mobile games these days. Great battery life, removable too... expandable storage. Real buttons! It's really the best and way cheaper than any high end phone.

Little secret though, honestly you don't need high end hardware to run 99% of games. Most decent mid-range phones even down to around $200 will work really well. Even budget phones particularly ones with Snapdragon 410 an up can do quite well. The real issue with budget phones is storage and screen size, it's two common places that are cut for cost savings.

The problem with iPhone for gaming is really need to go for a plus model for the larger screen an battery but they are even more than the already expensive non-plus models. Something like an SE would be more reasonable but then gaming on a 4 inch screen is really hard and the battery is tiny. If one is going high end phone anyways then it makes sense to consider iPhone but otherwise Android would be a better value with larger screens and batteries for much less.

  8. Phone-wise, probably the iPhone 13 Pro Max since it has excellent battery life and it's quite powerful. You could maybe make an argument that Android is better since it has more games and it's often cheaper, but you just can't beat the experience that an iPhone offers you.

Embedded gaming system, probably the Nintendo Switch OLED Model since it has all the game libraries you'll ever need, especially if you get Nintendo Switch Online alongside. OLED model also offers better screen and a slightly better battery life.
