    I know this is one of the major fears of students across the globe that comes across their minds. But I want to know if you are the type to be afraid when talking to a large or small group of people. Im the one that casually talks in a monotoned voice acting like Im Gordon Ramsay in a cooking show.

    I wouldn't necessarily say that I'm shy; I just prefer not to talk as much unless I have to, at least in real life. On the Internet, I'm very open to chatting because I can relate to more people's hobbies, interests, etc. I also prefer typing over speaking as my way of communication.

    I see talking in real life can be hard due to the fact of everyones judgment in person rather than behind a screen.

    It's not hard at all to talk, nor do I think it's because people judge me. It's more like I don't like to talk unless someone creates a conversation to begin with or unless I have some kind of meaningful question to ask.

    Very true! Im not the one to really start up a conversation unless the topic interest me. In person, I usually just wait until someone brings my attention to mind.

    I think every guy can be shy in front of girls. Thinking about the topic, there used to be a girl in 10th grade who would always try to talk to be as if she was really interested in me, but I would always have trouble speaking up. Not going to get into too much details of the story.

    Very true! If it's a small group of close friend or family, Im capable of talking in long duration speeches. But in front of people I've never seen... I'd get out of there real quick.

    I guess that happens to me occasionally. Usually if it's a stranger who seems genuinely friendly, I can be shy, but I'll always speak with strangers to get to know them.

    It's okay to really be shy in front of new strangers. It's human instinct to really coup with those you know. Many tend to become shy based of how they were rase as a child. Some people are more of introverts rather than extraverts. Furthermore, these signs can really tend to differ between peoples ways of communicating.

    Well I think the main issue with being shy is expectations in the person you're talking to, not so much how you were raised. I know extroverts can feel shy, not just introverts. When you don't really know the person you're talking to, you can be a bit intimidated. Like if you're talking to someone you're interested in, you might not know what to say and you might see certain expectations in that person like "what if this person thinks... of me."

    Well it a basic human response. I disagree with your opinion that it's not really on how they were raise because people are mainly influenced by what they appear to see. This is how children learn, by taking what they see and show what they can offer. If a man grew up being sheltered only learning of the typical educational studies and is introduced to a beautiful woman. He will most likely introduce himself without any sign of discression because he was not grown to be fearful of a woman judgement on men. However, learning from the judgement, is practically the reason of how humans become afraid or shy. If the woman judges the man of his physical looks or behaviors, he will learn from his experience. This is how all humans really, learn to grow an change their behaviors on talking in front of people. It's all by previous experience.

    Well I guess psychology is one of those subjects with various views on things, like behavioral, cognitive, psychodynamic, and humanistic perspectives. Everyone has their own way of viewing emotions like shyness.

    I was a shy child growing up but didn't mind doing my own thing. As I grew older, I became more open. I just wouldn't neccessarily start up a conversation, i'd rather the other person do it.
