AQ3D and raiding, what will become of it?

    So when we are going to get Ashfall part 3, we are introduced to first "raid" we can go into.
    Raids are like dungeons but they are more difficult and there is going to be high amount of people in them considering the hardest difficulty setting is going to allow 20 players to participate, 4 times more compared to regular dungeons (5 players).
    You are able to go to the raid also in 1 player mode (story mode with NPCs that help you get through) and 5 player mode.
    We used to have 10 player limit inside of Valek's challenge (i would consider Valek's challenge mini-raid that is just a dungeon but boss is actually not as easy to kill considering the level difference between you and the boss when you have access to it, level 16 fun times...) but it got changed with features added in patch 1.4.0 and them being public dungeon mode and party/private dungeon mode with other niche features that i am not going to list here.

    So what will you expect to see AQ3D provide in terms of raid content and how complex do you think they can get in the long run considering the limitations of multi-platform format of the game?

    Also what kinds of mechanics would you like to see in raids in general to well make them stand out from dungeons and such?

    i hope the raids we can focus on building connections too.. we put a whole lot of focus on beating things up..

    I hope it would be hard to the point that you need strategies, positioning, right classes to deal with. But i guess because we are still in beta, it would be much less than i wwould expect

  4. A raid sounds fun, but I think issues will arise, if the AQ3D team isn't careful about implementing that feature. I just hope they don't rush raids at all. I think raids will require some strategy, but I don't see that happening as much since players can easily potion spam. I have a feeling that it'll be like the level 13 Mogloween dungeon that was super grindy.

    I do like the sounds of raiding as well. Is this official news on AQD3 updates?
     
  6. Not that I'm aware of. I don't think the AQ3D team has announced anything specifically about a raid system, just speculation from players on what may appear in the dungeons for Ashfall Part 3.

    Lets just hope, it will involve some equipments for dealing with the bosses like,

    For example :
    you have to pull the boss in a certain area then one other play will hit a switch then some spikes or a boulder or whatever it is will hit the boss and deal damage, . not just the spam-attack-to-te-boss type of raid like on room 1oo...

    Well we only have this design notes post about Ashfall part 3 concept art that is the only thing we have to work with at the moment. It has same info that i mentioned earlier with little things left out but it is ONLY A CONCEPT, and it could change at some point and well it might have already considering how long it has been since that design note got posted but we don't have any official answers about that yet.

    Unless they make those kind of dungeons very appealing for players at all times, like being necessary to get a new class, i fear that it will be too hard to find a full party after some days. They could make them similar to the bank dungeons, that if you can't find a party at all you can at least go solo and clear it for quest progression.

    Before they do raids they should add more skills because it's pretty boring doing a raid while having only 4 skills. There should be a boss mechanics too not just doing some random attack until the boss dies, we know that AE successfully handled the 100 player map that should be a good sign for a raid boss event. I hope in future, boss raids will come.

    Well i would like that too but wouldnt that make it hard for mobile players?? (i dont really like the controls on mobile so i usually play on my pc..but thats just me).

    Also, i would like if a combination of many classes was required not just using mages or rogues... Though i fear that a 20man raid might not be feasible due to problems arising then again i wasnt on during the 100 player events.. Was there any lag?

    That would be great but also hard to make... the boulders or spikes should be doing damage to the players too!!! We would probably be killing ourselves all the time!!! AHAHAHAHAH

  14. Well they made parkour for a dungeon to get to a chest which is almost impossible to get to on mobile, so I don't see why they wouldn't target raids mostly for the PC players. Honestly, AQ3D seems better on PC because you can do more.

    A combination of classes would be nice. It would be a great way to develop strategy, but teamwork is quite rare to have.

    Hopefully some of the raiding will allow more opportunities to redeem news rare items.

    Well we used to have 20 player limit in Battleon at some point during pre-beta if my memory serves and i really didn't experience any frame rate issues myself.

    And when it comes to things that are hard to perform like parkour to reach chests like in Crimson Cavern where there is a room where you have to jump from platform to platform to reach a chest and this same thing is used also in Glowing Depths and Silverstone Mines. So it isn't surprising to see content that is more inconvenient to experience and do on mobile due to controls (i really can't speak from experience though, i don't have a phone that is compatible with AQ3D, so i am just making assumptions)

    I would also like to see all classes utilized in strategic way and this would also be more feasible in the future when we get more classes to play around with which basically encourages it.

    This type of raid reminds me of Final fantasy. And I would really love to see it happen in AQ3D.
