old chat box or new chat box

I like a bit of both. The new chat box has the option to change the size of the box, but the old chat box looks nicer with the rounded edges.

 

I'm still confuse with the new chat box when i want to change a party chat to general chat...
So i choose old chat box

 

Both of the new and old chat boxes are great but both of them also have some disadvantages, like the thing that you cant see the chat messages on general when you are on a party chat(new) ,but I prefer the old chatbox than the new, just sayin. I really hate it when I cant whisper from a distance to a player with two first names coz of its spacing><

 

I think you can still do it (whisper people with spaces in their names) ... just include the space ... unless that doesn't work any more ... but it worked for me in the past ...

 

I tried but it doesnt work, the shortcut is not really great for those type of names( 2 names). Its not really a big problem though, coz we can just click whisper if we manage to see the person, if!! XD

 

Hmm ... maybe cause the player was offline when you tried?

 

This! The new chat box with party, chat and whisper mixing with the regular chat always confuses me or tricks me. It needs a bit more simplicity, or some easier way to help. Or maybe I'm being slow, but I like the older box.

 

Maybe , but most of the time that I do it, Im sure that the person is online

 

maybe it is because the particular player you are trying to message actually has a name that is in common with another player ... so like aaa bbb vs aaa ... maybe

 

I'm indifferent when it comes to both of the chat boxes. I have/had no trouble reading either of them.

 

a real global chat (for all areas) in additional to an area chat would be nice ... get everyone talking in the same channel
well ... maybe ... if it doesn't cause lag

I really like both, but AE should just put them together to make even better chat box!

 

People complaining how small chat text is it's pretty small

 

I like how you can change the BG opacity it makes the text a bit easier to see. The chatbox still has its flaws and all though I still constantly clear the chat whenever chat accumulates cause I just get lost in the text.

 

That /clear command does help out.

 

Ah man I really feel the wishper to friends with space between their names part... that sucks.

New chat box is better cuz of the options you have now with it, but it could be better. Letting us type in party chat while looking at general chat would be better.

 

That would be a nice QoL change!
