What type of pet system should AQ3D have?

    So, AQ3D will most likely get pets next year. What type of system for pets should the AE team create? Should it just be like AQW or should there be something unique?
    Just a small note, since Necromancer was released, it seems like they won't have a battle pet system like in AQW since you summon NPC Skeletons to do your bidding.

    I'd like:
    • Pet xp and level ... and evolution
    • Pet stats
    • Pet passive effects (for players) + Pet auto abilities (similar to minions)
    • Pet hp/healing/death/revival
    • Pet equipment

  3. I say that every pet can be used in combat, but instead of just having some pets as battle pets like in AQWorlds, every pet should have the ability to battle. I fear that it'd make combat too OP, so maybe have pet classes like a "Beastmaster Class" or something.

    So like hunters in WoW ... no battle abilities for pets of players of other classes in that system though

    I would rather just have special pets available to special classes ... however, with the way you can simply switch classes in AQ3D ... I'm not sure how well this would work ...

    To be honest i would prefere a simple pet system more like a utility (Grab loot, go sell items, go deposit in bank). Battle pets are too much of a risk lot can go wrong just for the "trainer" feeling.

    I completely agree, that's where the devs come in adding some depth to the character builds, I guess they started shy because the other games they created had too many limitations, they are improving and learning while the game takes form. So I am basically saying that we shouldn't think of pets like a fix to our lack of char development, instead ask for the real changes. I'm writing this with all respect, just trying to explain my point.

    I hope they expand the skill set for each character and allow us to customise which skills we hotkey (i.e., allow us to only use 4 ... but we can mix and match the 4) ... would also work well if skills have various combo effects

    We could get them like using a charm, with a bar. It would be awesome to get the new graveyard drakes.

    One pet could be made go have a lvl cap and u can train him to be max
