I read some stuff today about an ArenaNet Dev going off on Twitter. What a mess. Will be interesting to see what happens, if anything.

Steam sale is wrapping up soon. I only picked up American Truck Simulator DLC, did feel like I really needed anything else. One game I have my eye on for future sales is Wreckfest, it was too new for this one. Overall, I think the sale was a bit underwhelming, I really miss the daily deals and stuff. However, it's still one of the best video game sales around.

Update - ArenaNet has fired the Dev in question as well as another that was a part of the incident. Kinda surprised, actually really surprised. I didn't think they'd go that route but they did and with swift action. I guess the moral of the story here is Twitter is NOT private, do not post stuff to it expecting privacy... I mean you'd think that's common sense but I guess not. Actually the real moral of the story here is just don't say terrible things in the first place...

Old School RuneScape mobile beta, whew that is a mouthful, launched today for Android users. I believe I saw they already hit the cap they set for now so you can't join right now but they will be regularly opening it up to new players, just keep an eye on it in Google Play. iOS users will have to wait, possibly till towards the end of summer. In terms of the game itself, what I played felt pretty good. Some things are hard to do but in terms of function, it's running pretty good on my phone with a Snapdragon 820. Curious to see how they'll handle RS itself, which has a lot more systems than Old School at this point.

Update update - Dev is now trashing Anet in the media lol. The thing that gets me is she refuses to admit she made a huge mistake and blew this WAY out of proportion. The guy that supposedly attack her because she's a woman literally the day before was on camera raving about how much he loved her work and respected her. He even feels bad about the whole situation and has basically apologized for his accidental role in it. When this happens, you apologize and move on but no, she just keeps doubling down and accepts no responsibility for herself. It's kinda insane and I feel bad for the guy who is now being dragged through bias media outlets as part of the issue when he's actually a big fan of hers or at least was...

In other news, this weekend is yet another F1 race! 3 in 3 weeks! Should be a good one, it's at the world famous Silverstone. Pretty excited, the season has been super close so right now every race counts.

Warframe is coming to Nintendo Switch! No release date was given but it was announced recently and will be ported by Panic Button, who's done other high profile ports like Rocket League, DOOM and Wolfenstein. Warframe is a F2P game, you can play solo or with other people. Online is required though. The core of the game takes place on tight maps, you drop in, fight through enemies and complete the objectives... collecting materials and drops along the way. It's a pretty fast and fluid movement game, they describe it as space ninjas and honestly, that's exactly what it feels like. I'm curious if it will retain it's 60FPS, if it can't that may hurt the feel of the game.

Anyways, it should be a fun time and since it's free... it's definitely worth checking out at least once! Check out the announcement here:

 

Octopath Traveler is coming out in a few days on July 13th. I was pretty interested in this game but probably not going to get it... or at least not at launch. It seems like it'll be a good game but I really don't wanna jump into another big RPG. I'm also not really a fan of the random encounters but the bigger issue is not being able to save anywhere. I really don't like set save points, it's extremely annoying to me having to play until the game says it's OK to stop. That's just me though. Check out one of the trailers here:

Been trying to play Guild Wars 2 again. I mostly quit because HoT is stupid hard at points and just really frustrating to traverse imo. I dropped a TON of gold on new equipment and upgrades, completely overhauled the build and now things are going a little better... yea just a little. I really hate these maps lol. Supposedly the other expansion is easier and I kinda want to just jump the that. I really loved Guild Wars 2 before HoT lol so if it's more like the core game, that'd be great. Plus I'm dying to get a mount. Probably gonna wait until next month though, to see if I'm still playing but they may also do a sale for the anniversary.

No Man's Sky is launching a big update on July 24th. For NMS owners this looks great, it's a no-lose situation. For non-NMS owners, I'm not so sure. They don't have the best track record so would suggest waiting to see how it pans out. Especially because they still want a full $60 for it. Either way, it's one to get an eye on if you're into space games.

Comcast has officially pulled out of the Fox bidding war with Disney. It didn't seem like Comcast had much of a shot anyways because Fox was determined to sell to Disney and Disney has more money than Comcast. Still, it's nice to know it has no chance of going to Comcast. This mean Disney will gain majority control of Hulu, X-Men and Fantastic Four will be returning to Marvel and Disney will be gaining a ton of Fox movies. The US government decided they can't have the Fox Sports RSNs so they will be sold off again after the sale is complete. This means they won't be joining ESPN.

I wasn't super crazy about them joining ESPN anyways but I'm not sure the alternative will be better. It's not clear who will be the buyer or buyers an depending on who buys your local RSN, it could mean a change in how you can watch your local teams. Fingers crossed it works out ok... it's already a bit of a mess as is.

Of course Comcast being Comcast... they aren't happy with this loss. So they've moved on to trying to purchase Sky, the UK TV network who is currently in the process of being bought by Fox... who's stake would then be sold to Disney. I guess Comcast just likes to fight with Disney. I can't say either of these would be great for the UK but I hope Comcast doesn't win for their sake.
