Moglomancer Concept Art

Doesn't really scream "Moglin" to my ears. Head gear looks more like rabbit ears, and why does the set have to be red like the good chunk of other sets we see? I get that they're trying to make the set similar to Twilly, but Twilly isn't the only Moglin in the AdventureQuest universe, and a lot of players tend to favor Moglins such as Zorbak more than Twilly anyway.

 

Heh, good one. I don't see that head gear resembling a moglin either which is pretty disappointing. More rounder ears please!

 

If anything, I think they should have done a Kickstarter green version as the normal version and a Shadow Moglin version of the armor as a $100+ option. That would have made more sense.

 

I would be all up for that! those shadowy effects that come from the eyes of the Shadow Wolf and the Shadow Moglin could be cool to have on a head gear.

 

The only reason I can find for those smaller ears is that AQ3D version is supposed to be a bit different from AQW version which does have bigger ears but no hood.

 

It's pretty much the same set with a different hood and colors. I don't see it being inferior to the green version though. Why do you think that it's worse compared to the green set?

 

So they are pretty much even if the color isn't a concern?

The blue one seems pretty mediocre, like the only reason they have a blue one is because they already have a red one planned, and they wanted to balance Twilly with Zorbak. Honestly I still think they should have done a Shadow Moglin armor variant instead since that fits with the $100+ package, and perhaps make the public version (the one available for everyone) a generic color like purple or orange instead of making it red to represent Twilly.

Oh? I would have thought that you would like the blue one because well, you are into color blue. I do agree we should have had a Shadow Moglin armor variant, what a missed opportunity!

 

Nah. I do like the color blue, but I wouldn't be that sort of person who'd say, "everything looks better in blue." I prefer to see more colors in the game anyway. I just think the whole "red" moglin and "blue" moglin choices for the Moglomancer is overrated, because Twilly and Zorbak already get a lot of prominence in the series.

You can think of it this way... if AE keeps releasing a bunch of black and blue legion stuff each year, it gets to the point where the items become overrated and less important. Scarcity is more valuable, and having new and original content is important.

 

I am all up for new colors and more will be put to the game for sure. It wouldn't be a legion item if it weren't black and blue right? It's hard to break tradition that has been going for years and years, so making big changes isn't necessarily a safe thing to do.
