What Thing You Don't Like in AQ3D?

Discussion in 'Adventure Quest 3D' started by Awen Blade, Apr 29, 2017.

  1. Still something AE needs to address. I had the issue where players appeared naked or completely black, and the interface kept flashing from invisible to visible. Last time that happened to me was at the Xenoscythe dungeon, and fortunately I was able to beat the dungeon before the game crashed. Sometimes it's unfortunate for other players with the problem, because they'll lose progress in the middle of an objective.

You almost never encounter graphical bugs on mobile, because the game crashes when it has too much memory running. It's usually why I rarely play AQ3D on mobile for long hours, because the game crashes so often compared to PC.

Mobile version has less memory to work with generally anyway so it's no wonder that players on that platform don't almost never experience those issues. Changing how memory is used could lead to problems with other things in game so making changes to it is probably going to be a time-consuming process.

Alright, another thing I do not like is that I cannot pick up loot if it's already in one of my bank vaults. It would be nice if materials and one-time use items (that are at least loot drops) can be in our inventory and bank vault at the same time, like the consumable daily chest rewards.

  4. Happens a lot with Live Event Coins. People store them in their bank, because they're not actively farming for them, but when an event comes out, they're unprepared for that event because they haven't taken their coins out of the bank yet. Honestly with Live Event Coins, they ought to be in the tab where daily class tokens and other items are, so they don't take up precious space; I think a handful of items should be moved to the other tab (e.g. Daily Boss Tokens, Live Event Coins, Pet Feed, just about anything that's rewarded as a daily quest reward, and all of the important miscellanous items that require being hoarded for a lengthy time).

And it would be nice if items can transfer to the bank (if they already exist in the bank), because I don't want to carry a nearly-full inventory every time I play the game. Fortunately I have 100 inventory space, but people with less than that have to deal with more inconvenience.

This happens with items that don't multistack and they are marked as Unique items in game. Kinda weird that Tengu Feather counts as an unique item when Ocean's Scale doesn't.

Ooooh, good suggestion; I did not think of the tokens tab in our inventory.
On the New Years Eve, Artix spawned the DuckyDucky Chest, Blue Event Chest, and a chest that gave a Direwolf armor piece. I've forgotten about the DuckyDucky Feathers sitting in my bank vault and assumed I didn't own them. After beating up the DuckyDucky Chest, I tried picking up the DuckyDucky Feather loot. I had an "oof" moment when the game said I already have the item in the bank.

That's why you need to be prepared for something like that or else you will miss out on the loot that stacks that way.

I guess it's best to leave DuckyDucky Feathers, Blue Ogre Souls, and Live Event Coins in my inventory, so I do not have to think about fetching them from the bank vault the next time another unannounced mini live event occurs.

  9. I think what matters most are the coins. You can't really do much with DuckyDucky Feathers except turn into the creature (and most people don't really turn into DuckyDucky anyway because feathers are too scarce), and the Blue Ogre Souls from event chests don't matter as much if you already own the permanent form.

Live Event Coins do multistack so it's not necessary to keep them inventory because you can create a new stack of them even if you have a stack of them in your bank.

I never know if AE will add more items to the Live Event Coin Shop some time in the future, so I still pick up Live Event Coins. The only thing I’d pretty much do with a feather is to goof around in the DuckyDucky form. Despite already owning the permanent ogre form, I’m still hoarding Blue Ogre Souls in case some kind of trading system ever comes to the game someday (moreover, I did not know some GameOgre weapons came with a Blue Ogre Soul upon redeeming its code, which is partly why I have surplus Blue Ogre Souls).

Ah, it's nice to know that Live Event Coins can be multi-stacked! I have 18 Live Event Coins, and I already own an Acolyte of Hope Robe. However, I still haven’t bought the Skull Tankard yet, since I’d almost certainly just leave it in my bank vault. But I’m sure I can choose to buy the tankard later at any time.

It would be a good idea to save those coins up because we are going to get new items at some point.

At least a new cosmetic, preferably and hopefully. :D

  14. Hopefully not items with ludicrous requirements like 60 coins just to craft an item, but reasonable items that everyone can benefit from. Sometimes AE goes crazy with item requirements that it's discouraging or off-putting to players.

Some people do have over 60 coins, but I don't think there needs to be items that take up several coins just to craft them. The majority of players don't even have that much anyway. I think one to five coins for any item would be reasonable, and hopefully they do that instead of something crazy.

I would say that is not enough compared to the amount of time have waited for more items to spend those Live Event Coins on.

AE really shouldn't go too crazy with prices of those items because Live Event Coins are something you can't get whenever you want.

That has to do with your internet connection or/and your quality settings. If you have good hardware and a good internet connection, the lag shouldn't a big problem.

  18. Even having good Internet and the right settings isn't good enough. Some of the issues can't be resolved by the user because it's server-side, like servers crashing every once in a while during the day. Usually the result isn't necessarily lag, but simply the inability to join a server, but server-side issues can create lag, like click events being delayed because of server ping.

Generally having those two things is enough because you can't do much about the server-side issues.

  20. We can't, but AE itself can. If they lose support of current players because of server-side issues, then they'll actually pay attention more, but players seem to just stick to the game even amidst server issues because they're too indulged in their progress. In other words, if players are still playing the game and the servers have issues, then why would AE really need to prioritize server issues? The main support they'd be losing are the newcomers, but they probably don't recognize them as much anyway.

It just seems like servers are least of their concern, even for other games like AQWorlds which experienced server issues yesterday morning. From their point of view, players will just log in later in the day anyway, but from the players' point of view, the players are wasting time trying to get in or won't have time later on.

It's still something that needs to be prioritized, and I don't think blaming "DDoS attackers" helps at all, because is that really something players should excuse AE for, or even believe? Like how are players really supposed to know what's going on; for all we know, AE could just be getting cheaper servers, or it could be a combination of both cheaper servers and DDoS attacks because the servers are cheap? Any good company would address the issue and resolve it immediately, and an excellent company would future-proof issues to make sure they don't happen in the future.
