Probably some traps with arrows

 

I like all redstone traps,it makes game unique

 

I like trap with sticky clips you can make it in front of your doors.

 

make an infinite spider web loop...it wont kill them but they are not gonna be able to get out of it..... there are lots of tutorials on youtube on how to build them...

 

I like the hidden lava bridge trap.

Use trap chests in some places in your base, and connect the chest to dispensers that will shoot poison arrows on them

 

Hmm watch some trap videos in youtube there are tons of effective traps there

 

hm want to get creative with this, maybe get some ideas from fred in a certain scooby doo remake where he's obsessed with creative trapping things, where this happens and that happens then this happens all go from triggering one part

 

I'd make a sand pitfall where there are a bunch of signs stacked below the ground, and when the player triggers a pressure plate, the sand will fall down from a piston, and so would the players. And as an added bonus, I would put pressure plates inside the pit and underneath the pit would be a bunch of TNT.

 

Here's a fun trap a little different than my previous idea and a little tricky to set up, but would be entertaining to lure in players playing Ultra Hardcore PvP. Build a staircase that spirals downward underground, and make sure it's lit up at the top, but not so much at the bottom, and have a tripwire set up in a spot that's hard to see. Put TNT (that will be triggered by the tripwire) around the staircase hidden behind stone walls (you can get TNT from desert temples, if you're fortunate enough). And to make sure the enemy doesn't have time to escape, have pistons push stone blocks at the top of the staircase.

I have yet to build a successful dummy base to lure players, but I think it's a neat idea. Only thing I worry about is that it'll take a long time to implement when there are other players looking to engage in PvP. It's very uncommon to see traps working successfully, but I think it's fun seeing one actually work.

 

I think you should make an exploding chest

 

Trapped chests are usually easy to spot. Usually there's a red tint somewhere in the middle, and when you're playing in a PvP setting (like UHC), if the chest isn't your's, the logical thing to do is destroy the chest and get the contents of the chest that way. It's the same principle with pressure plates in front of a door; just break blocks and enter that way instead and never trust a pressure plate. Good traps are actually hard to make, especially since they take up a lot of time and planning.
