    Hi, I'm new here (I joined because of Living Avatars :D ). I've just installed it on my forum and I love it - it's just the kind of thing I've been looking for.

    Some features I'd like to see:
    Being able to try items on (though I read you've been working on that)
    Custom folder images
    Integration with vBulletin themes/pages

    Trying on items is actually done, i just need someone to test it before I release to make sure it works properly. If your interested send me a PM ;)

    I posted about this a couple of times before, but I guess those old posts are no longer around. I had wanted to use Living Avatars on my petite fashion forum, as a rectangular image taller than it was wide. I got it so the output image was the size I wanted, but the canvas itself didn't change when the user assembled their avatars, so the resulting image was distorted. I'd love to be able to use Living Avatars with rectangular images without distortion. :)

    Another feature that might produce some interesting results would be items that change over a period of time, or can be altered somehow by spending more points. Think of a potted plant that grows over time, or must be watered regularly to keep it from wilting. Or pets that must be fed (or they eat your avatar? LOL).

    Or maybe make parts of the body movable maybe to fit stuff better :cheesy:

    That would be nice, Soliloquy:). Is something like that possible, Confuser?

    Entirely possible, but a niche feature, one which would take a considerable amount time to implement. If more people want such a feature then I will add it in ;) Im still looking for a tester who has vb 4.1.5 btw

    Sounds good, Confuser:). BTW, received a phone call today about about Living avatars being hard to download? Unfortunately, the message was deleted by accident before it was fully heard.

    You can change the size of the canvas within includes/edit_avatar.php
    Lines 38, 39
    Code:
    $canvas_width  = 250;
    $canvas_height = 250;
    I have done custom folder images, to make things simple it doesn't use the database, instead you put an image within the folder called folder.gif.

    So for example if you want Accessories to display a custom image, choose your image, put it in the packs/chibi_life/accessories and name it folder.gif

    Anyone want to test it before I release PM ME!

    I got a working folder preview setup on my forum, basically the same what you did except it pulls the image from a single folder called "covers" and looks for the folder ID and outputs that.

    I figured out to do the folder images in the end, but did a different way to both of you.

    I changed <img src="' . ROOT_PATH . 'includes/images/default_preview.gif" /></a>'; in index.php to <img src="' . ROOT_PATH . 'includes/images/' . $group['title'] . '.png" /></a>'; then just gave each folder image the same name as the group.

    I tried changing the $canvas_width (though not the height) with no results. Then I tried searching for any hard-coded values of 250, finding one in the table data tag on line 593. I changed mine to 150 and the canvas on the Edit Avatar screen did indeed slim down. When I saved the new avatar, though, the result was even more distorted than before. I figured whatever process compiles it into a single image still uses the hardcoded default value, went looking into save_avatar and changed the $canvas_width there. The good news is, the resulting image was no longer distorted into something absurdly skinny, the bad news is the placement of the items in the resulting saved image was off. I should be able to post links soon, I'll show you what I mean.
