Hello Maplers,


During Hot Time on January 14, many players in Scania experienced a disconnection after receiving the Hot Time box and when they logged back in they no longer had the box. Because of this issue, many players that qualify did not get their Hot Time rewards. We are reviewing the data now and all players that qualified for the Hot Time box but did not get the rewards will get a replacement box during the next scheduled maintenance (currently planned for January 18.) We apologize for these issues and thank you very much for your patience.

The Demon Slayer arrives on January 11! guide



The Demon Slayer arrives on January 11! There will be no need to wait through a patch or maintenance for him to be unlocked: You'll be able to start playing as him right at 12:00am, midnight Pacific time on January 11!

Need to know how to create a character? Read on.

1. Go to the top of the MapleStory website and log in. You can also sign up for a Nexon account if you don’t have one yet.



2. Click the Play button on the left side of the main page of MapleStory - A Free Massively Multiplayer Online Role-playing Game to launch the game.



3. Select the world you would like to play in by double-clicking its name. You must have one empty character slot in that world.



4. Select the channel in which you would like to play and double-click it. You can switch channels after you enter gameplay, if you would like.



5. Click ‘Create a character.’



6. Click the Demon Slayer.



7. When a confirmation message appears, select ‘OK.’



8. Enter your character’s name in the box provided, then select ‘Confirm.’ The name must contain only letters and/or numbers, cannot be longer than twelve characters, and cannot be the name of an existing MapleStory player character.



9. Select which gender you’d like the Demon Slayer to be, then select ‘Confirm.’



10. You can change the type of facial markings your character has. After you select which kind you prefer, click ‘Confirm.



11. Select your character, then click ‘Start.’ After entering your Personal Identification Code (PIC), you will begin the Demon Slayer’s tutorial! If you haven’t created a PIC yet, you will be prompted to create one before proceeding into gameplay.

Dear Maplers,

During the unscheduled server maintenance, we are addressing an issue with certain items with abnormally created stats and their circulation in game. These items pose a threat to the balance of MapleStory and to restore order we will be taking the following steps to eliminate the abnormal items.

- Any item that has been successfully upgraded beyond its allowed slots (including with Cash upgrades) will be removed from the players’ inventory and replaced with a clean, unscrolled version.
- Any item that does not have successful upgrades beyond the allowed slots but has the possibility to be upgraded beyond the allowed slots will have the extra slots removed, and the item will remain as is.
If you are a player that had abnormal items removed you will experience the following upon logging into the game.

1.A message will appear to your character with the abnormal items letting you know clean versions of the items have been placed in your Inventory.
2.You will not receive the clean items if your Inventory is full. Please make space and relog to retrieve your items.
3.If the abnormal items were in Storage, the clean itema will be given to the highest level character on the account. Please see #1 and #2 on how the items will be delivered.
The removal and replacement of illicit items will apply to all players currently in possession of the items regardless of how they were obtained. We cannot refund players who may have purchased abnormal items with mesos or through the MTS. We fully understand the chance of legitimate players affected by this issue and we made a very hard decision to keep a strong stance against any action that may endanger the game for all our players. We apologize for the inconveniences this may cause and truly appreciate your support to keeping the game healthy.

- All players who haven’t logged in since before the Legends update last December 8 will receive a 10-day, 2x EXP coupon which lasts from 1-5 PM Pacific, just by logging in and entering the Cash Shop.
- All players who haven’t logged in since before the Legends update last December 8 and who have a pet which has expired will also receive Water of Life to revive the pet.
