Joymax lets slip the dogs of war and begins the hunt in their free-to-play 3D fantasy MMORPG with unique riding-action, Knight Age. Since the wildly successful open beta test and official launch last week, Joymax has launched several in-game and Facebook events to welcome new players. Knight Age is open to all, and players can join now through the official website.

The hunt is on! Every Thursday and Saturday, GMs will be hiding in the world twice per day. It's up to the players to seek out their prey within the Knight Age world – and these wily GMs could be anywhere. Are they hiding in the trees, lurking in the bushes, or even strolling boldly through a field of mobs? The first four players to discover the GM will be thrown into a game of chance: the highest roller will win coveted prizes, including rare mount and Pupa pets. This combination of hunting and gambling is sure to excite players, so mount up and prepare for the greatest hunt in the realm. This event will last until October 2nd!

Knight Age's developer also recently answered some important questions about the state of the game, including lessons learned during closed beta. Players can read the full interview via the Knight Age's Facebook. The Facebook is also chock full of news, tips, and screen shots along with daily interaction with GMs and players.
Knight Age has had no shortage of contests and events throughout closed and open beta. With two laptops already sent off to excited winners and hundreds more receiving prizes varying from cash shop items and currency to gaming equipment. Joymax is upping the ante by running a second contest with two additional laptops, as well as gaming gear including keyboards, mice, and headsets.

 

Blizzard Entertainment today unveiled plans for several official global launch events celebrating the upcoming release of World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria. Beginning on the evening of September 24, key retail partners in the US, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Spain, Sweden, the UK, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, and the region of Taiwan will welcome gamers who will be among the first to purchase and play the highly anticipated fourth expansion for the world's most popular subscription-based massively multiplayer online role-playing game. Members of the World of Warcraft development team will be on hand at many of the official launch events to meet players and sign their copies of the game.

Maestia: Rise of Keledus will received an update dubbed "Skies of Palus". The update will surprise the community by raising the level cap, expanding the skill tree, and adding a new PvP mode. Players can look forward to starting September 19th at the official site

The upcoming update will increase the character level cap from 59 to 68. The update will be adding an exciting new zone to the game: Palus, The Forgotten Swamp is a new Day/Night zone for players to compete. Players will have the opportunity to engage in large scale battles to secure dominance for the raid bosses. The raid bosses will also receive an update by retuning the encounters to make it extremely challenging and unforgiving for unprepared parties. Skies of Palus will also a new dungeon instance with two sets of difficulty. Also included will be an expanded skill tree for every class that will give players new skills for these new encounters.

The mercenary system will also receive an update by allowing players to recruit their alternate characters to expand the way they want to play in the game. Following this update, Gravity plans to coincide with the mercenary update with a new event. Players will also receive a new system to upgrade their older Maestone. The Maestone upgrade system will allow players to place their old Maestone for a chance an upgraded version.

And that was the end of chess.†Viktor Kislyi, CEO of Wargaming. net, is describing the day his boyhood pastime died, in 1996, when IBM’s Deep Blue supercomputer defeated Garry Kasparov.

Kislyi had been playing chess for seven years. He had competed in regional championships in his home city of Minsk while trying to master “the mother, father, grandfather, grandmother of all games,†as he describes it.

“And then the world champion Kasparov lost to pretty much a calculator the size of your cellphone,†he says. “It’s a very beautiful game, don’t get me wrong, but the world of civilisation had to move on.â€

My cellphone is currently recording our conversation on the top floor of a tall office tower in Minsk. Several hundred Wargaming.net employees occupy six floors of the building, and the company has plans to expand to three more before the year is out. The staggering success of World of Tanks has kicked expansion plans into overdrive.
