    I don't think that people should make these so-called ''threats'' even if it's a joke. Still, I think that eight years in prison would be quite exaggerated since it's most likely just a joke, and I doubt he would post it on Facebook if he would actually do it.

    What I wonder is who reported him? o_o Because I doubt that someone from the police or something like that is checking everyone's Facebook account after illegal stuff, because that would take ages ^^

    Just because you started to play it again xD

    I do think that Nevewinter will win this month though, since quite many members started playing it and that's the game we a recurrently focusing on in Ogre Game Time and are close to making a guild too

    I got to lvl 170 xD I can't pass though, since I'm too lazy to ask for tickets to proceed in the game :p

    On the eight years in prison -- that's the maximum sentence and usually people don't get sentenced to that (they just get threatened with it to get them to make a deal.) However, he's been in jail since March over this.

    As for who complained, while Justin Carter lives in Texas; an anonymous woman in Canada wandered across his Facebook feed and according to some news sources say she called the FBI after looking up Justin's address online and discovered he lived near an elementary school (i.e. he lives in a city and not the middle of nowhere.)

    Right now, it's hard to tell if there's other reasons he's still in jail, but if the charges are as reported he's in jail only because of his speech and nothing else.

    Thanks to our ridiculously slow justice system lol.

    This thing is so messy, what he said was wrong and without consequences it'll keep happening but at the same time he didn't actually do anything beyond joke about it to his friend... it's just poor taste and honestly probably meant to be a "private" conversation... it's basically a case of "kids learn how to use privacy settings and don't say things online you could regret... joking or not".

    I'm glad he's in trouble as it needs to happen more often... it's just ridiculous the things said online. However joking about something even in poor taste on Facebook and then some random person from a whole other Country sees it and reports it... shouldn't land you in jail for 3 months while awaiting trial. Besides being an idiot he really didn't do anything wrong... investigate him if you wish but they don't have any evidence he was actually plotting something it makes no sense to give him anything more than a fine... if even that, no actual person or specific location was threatened here. I'd be all for sentencing him to some shrink sessions on his dime.
