Further information: The Netherlands declared their indepence in the year 1609 with the Act of Abjuration during the 80 years war of independence fought against Spain, making the Netherlands the second-oldest representative democracy in the world (after Iceland). I'm surprised there was no information about Marco Polo and the necktie.

 

There isn't really proof if Marco Polo was born in today's Croatia or Italy, so I couldn't really say anything about that, although necktie is a good detail that I forgot about. Thanks for adding that info. This necktie was made in my city. It was really cool.

you know who the most famous Croatian in the Netherlands? It's not Rade Šerbedžija. but she is an actress. She's particularly well known for one famous scene in a Dutch comedy film.

I seriusly wouldn't know who she is, I would probably know her if you say the name of some Croatian movie she acted into, but like this I doubt it since I don't watch German movies.

She hasn't played in any German movies that I know off. Her name is Tatjana Simic, she a famous actress and singer in the Netherlands and was born in Zagreb Croatia. I do recollect that she has a niece in Germany who is a known female football player and that's she been in a few German magazines, but that's about it with the ties she has with Germany.
