USA Only! (well you can do other countries but your Amazon account must be USA)

I've posted this a few times now on forums after I saw it.

    -------------

    1) Go on Facebook. If you don't have an account make one.

    2) Search "Toyota USA" and then become a fan of it.

    3) Go to this app- Giiv Promotions on Facebook and click "Allow".

    4) You get a code that gives you $1.29 to use on Amazon MP3. Most songs are $0.99.

    --------------

You can also make multiple emails and then multiple Facebook accounts to get more codes. Personally I did it 10 times so I could get an album I wanted. :p Don't know how long this will last so if your gonna do it I recommend moving fast. Great if you want to try out some new music. Plus the music is high-quality and virus-free unlike Limewire (which I hate btw).

Except both are illegal and the quality of the songs generally isn't as good. Besides if I'm going to download free music I use torrents, billion times faster than beemp3 or Limewire. Plus viruses in music torrents aren't that common. And for the record, Limewire sucks. It's full of viruses and people that use it are so stupid. If you've gotten music from them probably 10-20% had some sort of virus in it. Once again, Limewire users are stupid. The program itself sucks and Frostwire is much better (it's LW Pro for free). Not that I use that either. I just thought I'd post this 'cause it's free music that is high-quality and unlike anything else said legal.

i use the bittorrent client and isohunt.com for searches, but that's illegal of course ;)

if it's legal then it isn't free and often times it's cheaper to buy music in the stores or better yet straight from the musicians.

A lot of bands these days have their own site where they sell their own music, you can use google to search for it. For instance the music that is on my wishlist these days is classical music and music from bands like:

MADE IN BARCELONA on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads
    KATTERPILLAAR // Muziek & theater

This has to be the most retarded thing I have ever seen online. There is absolutely no common sense put into that post. Musicians are people too, they want to make money for their work. If you made a hit song and weren't making what you deserved on it, wouldn't you be pi$$ed off? Now like I said before, I do use torrents sometimes, but I also do pay for quite a bit of my music. A lot of it is CD's that I purchased in a store, therefore giving credit (in this case money) where it was due. I don't pirate everything I want just because I don't want to pay for it. Yes, sometimes there's a song I want to download and I simply will get it, even if it is illegal, but I don't do this with everything because I know that the artists deserve money. If the whole world thought that way there wouldn't be any music. Your acting as if people that buy music from iTunes are stupid. Personally I don't use iTunes but the people that use aren't stupid, they're smart by not getting themselves into legal trouble. If the whole world thought the way that you just posted there would no longer be any music. No one would make it if it was all being stolen. :furious3:

A side note as well, if you're in UK or some parts of Europe, then you've got an even better choice: Spotify!

And also, another music streaming service is Grooveshark if you're not in Europe, except this one is browser based, while Spotify is desktop based. Also, this one allows music uploaded from anyone (as long as it is music on Grooveshark's list, otherwise it will quickly get removed by someone), while Spotify has its own database of music. This means that Grooveshark could potentially have more music on it, but it also means Grooveshark is a lot less organised than Spotify.

Both of these services pay the labels/musicians, so they are completely legal.

And I'm glad you respect musicians psufootball. Few of my friends share that view with us :D.

Well, if you buy one song on iTunes, it should cost you $99 (in the US) or 50p-99p in the UK, dunno what it is in South Africa, but a whole album here in the UK would cost £6 to £10 if you're lucky. So I think proportionally, there's not much difference to buying one song than to one whole album. Obviously, if you just want one or two songs, then you might as well buy it online from iTunes or 7Digital or whatever, rather than the whole album.

Like awesomedrako said, buy it on iTunes or Rhapsody for $0.99 or whatever the price is in South Africa. Or use the method I have here for free music, that's what I do now, just make a ton of emails and then your set. It's actually cheaper this way in many cases. Most CD's are around $15, and if they only have 12 songs that's $12 so you actually save money.

ok here in south africa you can get a album for 100$ but on the sites its 10$ but on the albums your getting twice as much for what your paying for so you might aswell go and buy the CD Now if i wanted 2-3 songs i just go download them for free instead of getting a credit card or whater and paying for it

Surely though, if you only wanted 2-3 songs, then you might as well buy them online, instead of illegally downloading them, otherwise, you WOULDN'T BE ONLY WANTING 2-3 SONGS.

If you feel like you might as well get the whole album, then you're not just wanting 2-3 songs...

Yeah but the only stuff that you can download that is not illegal is independent stuff that isn't copyrighted. I use Jamendo for that.

You're right that a lot of stuff is free to download jared. Music, though, is only free if you're getting it off a legal streaming service like Spotify, Grooveshark, or a Last.fm. Or on a radio (whether it's conventional FM radio, DAB radio, or internet radio). Or if the artist is distributing it for free (like the people on Newgrounds' Audio Portal), though that's usually not the case with most music. Or if you watch it on Youtube (WATCH it, downloading a licensed song off a music video or something on Youtube would technically be illegal) or another video streaming site.

Multitudes of ways to get free, legal music, and I haven't even said all the tricks yet. However, when it boils down to it, downloading a licensed song off pretty much anywhere, Bittorrent, Gnutella, whatever; it is illegal.

I advise you buy your licensed music online, or listen to it on Grooveshark or similar. Those two are the cheapest but legal ways to get music. In the end though, you make the final decision on where you get your music from, and I have no hold over you. It really just depends on your morals or ethics really.

And ogreman would probably say this at some point but I'll say it for him: Gameogre.com does not endorse the downloading of illegal music from the internet.
