My guess is the new Xbox will be announced at E3... maybe not this year but defiantly in the next couple and no matter the year, Ps4 will be announced at TGS of the same year. Release date wise, I could see Xbox going Spring/Summer but Ps4 is gonna be Fall and possibly if Sony isn't real worried about making Christmas, then early the following year.

Personally I think these consoles still have a lot of life left in them... especially the Ps3 which has been undervalued by third parties this whole generation. I'm hoping the new consoles are still at least a few years off as I'm not sure the market as a whole is ready for a new round of $400-600 consoles... maybe even more. This generation is in it's gold age, the consoles are still selling well (they are at a great price point, 360 could use a $50 cut though) and the audience is huge at this point, they'd be stupid to kill it all now with new consoles.

Honestly I see no problem with the current consoles. If you really need those sexy 1080p HD graphics what whatnot, then play on PC. But right now it's nice that 360/PS3 are both around that $200 mark. And honestly if they make a new console, what are they going to do to improve the experience? Give us slightly better graphics? Pfffttt... I would rather have my 360 graphics and $500 in my pocket. Plus contrary to what PC gamers always like to argue the console do not look ugly. Take a look at what EA has done with Crysis 2 and Battlefield 3. These consoles have power.

I think Consoles need to change completely... PS4 could blow MS out of the water if they came out with better features for players.

Neither Microsoft or Sony have any reason to go to the drastic measures it'd take to gain a dominant stake of the console market like the Ps2 had. Both the Ps3 and 360 are vary even both in capabilities and market share, next gen will likely be no different because their is no need for it to be different. Why go the extra mile for a chance at dominance when you can avoid the risk stay close to even with your competitors and both sides still will end up with 50 million+ consoles sold.
