A/ Storyline
A thousand years ago, there were some seafaring adventurers bringing fear and terror to the whole North Seas region. They are Vikings. To them, death is as light as feather. They have become a symbol of courage, wildness, and fearlessness, and their spirits wander eternally. They have come back to the mightiest God Odin to continue their fights againts forces of evil.
Living in harsh environment, Viking become tougher and stronger than other races. They put all their efforts into daily training to prepare for long expeditions across the seas. They are not only brave warriors but also experienced traders. Fighting and trading have gone deeply into their blood veins. But they don’t fight alone, they are a solid community obeying their greatest leader. A Viking leader is a superior warrior who has earned tremendous victories on battlefields and own a remarkable skill of summoning warriors in order to defeat wicked enemies and earn fame.
Each player will play as a chieftain of a Viking clan battling to rule the kingdom and sail across the oceans to discover new land areas. The farther the expeditions are, fiercer battles will be awaiting you. The brutal wars between the Good and Bad, Justice and Evil, goes on endlessly…

B/ Key features
1/ Sukumi relationship
In the Job types of Einherjar, Axe Fighter uses Axe, Sword Fighter uses Sword, Spear Fighter uses Spear. These 3 types are subject to a tactical relationship as follows: "Axe is strong against Spear ", "Spear is strong against Sword ", "Sword is strong against Axe". This in-game relationship is called "Sukumi".



2/ Turn-based tactics
The battles take place with the "Tactical Battle" model (aka. turn-based battle). Players and enemies will control their units in turn to fight.



3/ Summon characters
Players can summon a variety of characters in Einherjar such as special and elite warriors to develop their armies. One good point is that players can perform summoning without any special items.



4/ Diversified job system
There are 6 basic Jobs.
Players should combine characters and tactics to create a highly effective combat system based on features of each Job.


5/ Unique Blood attributes
Among the various units, a few have divine protection power from the blood of Valkyries.
There are 9 types of bloods and the increase rate of indexes upon level up for those units with blood will be increased.



6/ Distinctive Einherjar System
The Einherjar system is where players can combine special materials to create new powerful items. Such materials can be collected by sacrificing units to the Gods.
Thanks to this system, it becomes easier to control the blood and stats to create stronger warriors.



7/ Cold Sleep
Einherjar sets a certain limit to the amount of active characters allowed according to players’ level. They cannot summon more characters if the limit is exceeded, unless one or more of their characters die on the battlefield. However, the game also provides a convenient function called “cold sleep†to help players overcome that problem. That means moving a character into an ice coffin to freeze that character.
As for the characters in “cold sleep†state, their age will stay the same although the time keeps on passing. And players will be free to have more characters to strengthen their armies.



8/ Marriage & Birth
Another lifelike aspect of Einherjar is the ability of letting characters marry and give birth. And of course these characters must be over 15 (the legitimate age in this game) to get married. Just as in real life, isn’t it? And speaking of birth, there is certainly the heredity. Sometimes an advanced skill of parents will be passed to their children. This feature makes the game more exciting and amazing.



9/ Aging
Einherjar owns an interesting feature, like in real life. That is the aging process of characters. When time passes by, all in-game characters will age and die eventually. Their basic indexes will be high when they are at young age and become weaker as they get older. It is this aspect that makes the game more challenging because players must think wisely to use their characters for a long progress of playing.

A brand new forum event has just been announced for Einherjar community. This time the admin will give players freedom to craft their own items and winning items may be even used in the game! Quite interesting right ^^

Changes recap in Einherjar till now

Have you ever heard of Einherjar - The Viking's Blood? It is a F2P web game from Japan that was released quite 1 year ago. Till now the game still running and has been implemented many changes to keep their players satisfied since then. And they just announced their milestones on their official site to recap what the game has been through. Below are some notable points we taken from their notice article.

1/ Updated chat box


At the beginning, Einherjar players only communicate via guild chat section, that limiting the smooth communication to the whole community. That has been changed since the release of new chat box that is helpful for live sharing and discussion. That should be prepared before the game's official release. But in fact the Japanese version even doesn't have that feature so the English staff might need time to implement it.

2/ More friends, more Power


Power is an important factor which gives players many in-game benefits, like boosting activity time or summoning heroes. And the game has a referral policy that if you invite your friends to play with you, you will enjoy some benefits like in-game items and Power.

3/ Rewards for top 10 on ranking table


Being in the top players of Einherjar does not only give players fame but also rewards weekly. Top 10 players of the weekly battle ranking are now rewarded 10000 gold and 1 random gift (weapon, armor, accessory, material, item). And the reward list has been adjusted LATELY to give more valuable items to long time players.

4/ Variety of units and skills updated


There are many unit classes in Einherjar that are ranked from Job 1 (lowest) to 3 (highest). At the beginning, choices given to players were quite limited, but now more and more unique units have been added to help diversify their Viking army, such as Paladin, Succubus, Baphomet, etc. New units and heroes also come with brand new and unique skills (Magic Break, Valkyrie Protection, Lightning Speed, etc.) helping create more tactics suitable to each player.

5/ Higher level cap for units and buildings


Now players can raise their warriors’ max level up to 50 (lv.45 still allows soul sacrifice as before) to seize the 2 updated colonial forts (St. Oduran fort & Denovu evil fort) only suitable for units at lv50. Moreover, all stats of units have been increased respectively to give stronger Viking fighters.

6/ More items, more maps, more quests!
Einherjar is unique for its destiny quest system. Players can choose a path to go on their destiny and there is no way to turn back. Now the number of paths is up to 7 and will be extended more later.



Along with it, maps and items are inseparable to give fresh and interesting experience of utilizing different sets of equipment on players' adventure in a variety of maps filled with different strong enemies for them to conquer. New elite sets of weapons and armor (Adaman, Wolfram, etc.) are regularly updated to be useful for mightiest heroes.



And for those who rarely go on expeditionary battles, now they can earn RARE materials (Asgard Crystal, God Blood, Hel Stone, etc.) through training in home territory. Though the collecting rate is low but it is worth time and they can make good use of weak units who cannot fight often.



8/ Monster Square released
Recently a brand new update called MONSTER SQUARE has been released to help players summon Monster units to diversity their force and make the game playing more interesting. Cause it is fun that if we have defeated those monsters and now they return to serve us. Quite amazing right? Some of them own unique useful skills that can help players a lot on the battlefield.



Einherjar looks promising but it has lost too much time to develop, especially in the fast moving internet time like now. It should implemented those changes far sooner above to keep players stay longer. The fact that its community is quite small really discourages new players join the game. Loyal players may still save the game and help spread the game a little further, but it does need more marketing right now. If you are interested in turn-base tactic game of Japan, like in Final Fantasy Tactics, you should try Einherjar - The Viking's Blood cause now there are few games of that genre.

 

Just be updated that the game servers have been merged and a new heroine called Signy is released! Checked it on their website.
