    Do you rate games like 8/10 is average? I used to do this, and a lot of people do it as well I think. But, now, thanks to the help of a games magazine that enlightened me, I realise that 5/10 is average for a game! I know! Genius! Anyway, did you do that in the past as well? I hop this article will get more people to rate games properly.

    I think it should be that 5/10 means the game is average, it makes more sense when I think about it.

    I just rate what I feel the game should be. If I love it, my score will be 8 to 10.

    Hmmm... it seems a lot of people thing that rating a game 8 is average, and 5 is quite low... I personally think we should change our views on the rating world (lol), but does anyone agree?

    I agree, 5/10 is not offensive, simply means the game is average...where if a game has a horrible community and gameplay, it might get a 1 or 2.

    EXACTLY, loads of people use 7-8 as average when rating games, BUT, the middle of a scale of 0-10 is 5!

    Well, most games aren't so bad to get 0-4.

    I'd rate most games 4+ simply because I enjoy most games. My average rating would be above 5, but that's because I feel the games are good. I've seen many appalling games, but I haven't reviewed them.

    I reckon it helps to think of a game for each ranking, then compare them all to the game you are reviewing.
