one question, if we win, do we still have to pay the money per month?

In runescape, the best things about it are the people you can meet, the difficulty of quests and the fact that playing is fun. it is what an mmo should be. the peopel you meet on rs are from all over the world. people can log on and talk with people either in one house over, or one continent over. also, the quests get progressivly more difficult ad you get higher in level. i think that the more difficult something is, the more rewarding and enjoyable it is when you complete it. a great example of this would be leveling up to 129. when you are getting to level 30, it is a breeze, but then, it starts to get difficult and you need to be able to figure out the best way to level without wasting time training on things that give you nothing in return. playing rs is also alot of fun. you can join a clan chat and play guild wars, if you are a member, you can join a castle wars team, and it you just want to have fun without being in a group, you can go and do fun quests, go fishing, or cook things. most importantly, it is very exciting to get to level 129. getting to level 129 is the most accomplished thing anyone could do in rs. getting to this level is fun because of the chalenges you face getting there, the people you befriend and the fun you have playing. this is what is best about Runescape.

I’ve been playing Runescape since late 2006, and I’ve been very satisfied with the time I’ve spent in Gielinor. Runescape’s just a great all-around game. I’ve rarely been bored on Runescape, simply because of the sheer quantity of things to do. No matter what kind of gamer you are, there’s always something for you to be interested in. And there’s always someone to do those things with.

Another thing I love about Runescape is the community feel. Yes, some players are very immature, but there’s also a fair share of helpful, Language-speaking denizens of the magical world we call Runescape. Regardless of the people you hang out with in-game, there’s always someone around you, unless you brave the swamps of Morytania, or the heat of the Kharidian desert. Even in those places, the odd traveler or two come by every once in awhile. And what, you ask would draw people to such places? One word. Quests.

The quests in Runescape are some of the most expansive I’ve seen in an MMORPG. They’re more than you’re average “Kill x amount of x creatures,” or “Go to this place.” Everything you do in a Runescape quest advances the story, or sets another quest up for advancing the story. There’s so much depth, with all the side stories and mini-quests that add the smaller details to the larger quests. The puzzles challenge the mind, the fights challenge the strength of your avatar, and the jokes challenge your sense of humor. If, in the course of your adventures, you get stuck, you can go back to the locations around Gielinor and train up until you’re strong enough to take down that tough opponent.

Finally, the training in Runescape is one of my favorite parts of the game. If you ever get bored of the traditional hack and slash, you can go out to Catherby and enjoy some fishing. When you tire of that, hang out around the range for a while, gain a few cooking levels. While you’re there, plant some potatoes; your farming’s falling behind the rest of your skills. You’ll feel refreshed and ready to get back into the fray.

There are many more things I’d love to write about, but I feel I’ve written too much as it is. Sorry, I got a bit carried away.

    Have fun!

    What I like about Runescape

What I like best about Runescape is that I can do whatever I want to do....
    "get my level up"
    personalize my character
    finish quests
talk to friends or even people I don't know
    explore

I like the occasional random event or holiday event just to keep things surprising. I really like it when something is updated on runescape, it is fun to find something different that it was before. I would like it if this happened more often even if it is a small change.

    :D

i like the way runescape is 3d ,all the diffrent monsters u can fight over 2-120 levels of monsters u can fight in (free).i also like how u can upgrade skills so u can do many stuff like prayer and lighting fires with lots of diffrent logs u get from trees and the trees sometimes are even alive! runescape even features wars you can enter to see who is the top runescape warrior.for me,runescape has been fun many events and adventures even quest that you can do to earn XP and get loads of level ups.the 1 part that makes runescape a fun adventure is that runescape is online and u can meet friends from other countries around the world.but even as i speak runescape might even be making runescape even better with more events and BIG adventures.

ide like to thank JAGEX for making runescape a very fun game

People dont play runescape because its fun. Ask any player. Its part of them. Its what they live for. They live for the pking, house parties, dancing for money in varrock, following people wearing rares, merching, countless amounts of armour , safing, skilling, & training you hate, but appreciate. They live for the way it feels when they beat the other person in pvp or dominate a god wars monster, and knowing those extra hours they spent training were worth it. They live for the way they become a family with the rest of the community, they live for the countless songs they sing in varrock square in between training all those hours. They live for the friends, the pking, the memories, and the game. Its who they are. It's who we are...

    Runescape Membership Contest

What I like about the in-browser game MMORPG Runescape:

There are alot of Pros and Cons to this but since i can only list the good details about Runescape I will list all the minigames and features i like:

-A few background things about my Runescape Character~~ I have been playing since 2007, My character has acheived a few 99's, Quest cape, and desireables within game. I continue to play this game because it is fun and it eats up my spare time.

-Along with the construction skill i found every holiday htere would be an 'event' of some sort that would include a possible figure that represented the holiday. I have collected as many as i can of these for they truely are a Runescape treasure that one should value if you obtain alot of these.

-One new feature I like about Runescape would have to be the skill Summoning. This skill has many ways to train and is very useful in training other skills, this means both Combat and Skills are helped by familiars. But not all the familiars are combat or skill training, some are just cute and cuddly pets that will follow you around, they may not 'make messes' in game but you will be glad that these furry friends only need a bit of attention and feeding on ocassions.

-A feature that I like that is already pointed out is that this game is In-Browser, not like other MMORPG's such as World Of Warcraft and such games. I really like this feature because I can watch my shows in another tab or look up stuff at the same time.

-Though there is a free-to-play, Membership makes this game much more satisfying, fun, enjoyable, and much easier to train your account in almost every skill (even if its by a little bit of percent, it is still faster). I am satisfied with the price of membership as well compared to many other online games or any type of online membership that is expensive (like World of Warcraft, or possibly you could refer to the console XBOX360's online features which you have to pay for.)

-The Member skills available to members can be very profitable, very time consuming, very expensive, but all well worth it in the end.
-For those who may not be into this game completely, but have a great desire for Designing and such, you may just fall in love with the skill of Construction. Although this skill is very expensive, you can express your creativeness in a house and also show it off to others, as well as for their use.
-I LOVE FARMING. Though some may find this as a 'Girl's Skill' I Do Not Care. This skill can be very profitable or VERY EXPENSIVE! I choose to take the profitable road though. In Runescape you can farm anything from Herbs, Trees, Fruits, and Vegetables.
-HUNTER!!! This was one of my favorite skills, but it can become very boring if you do not have the attention span. This skill may be very boring, but it is very very profitable. Today you can make 40 Million GP (Runescape Currency). You hunt all these furry creatures but sadly you 'kill' them. No theres no blood or gore but some of these creatures have an exploding after effect! These little rascals are called Chinchompas, which can speed up the Ranging skill alot to 99.
-Thieving, Although not a profitable skill, it is a very easy 99. I cannot really say much about this skill unless you want easy exp and levels added to your total exp and level.
-Agility, not one of my most favorite skills, but it is well worth it at higher levels. From alot of shortcuts to special armour, this skill is well worth it if your doing a lot of running around in Runescape.
-Fletching, this skill is not very useful, but is an easy and cheap 99 skill. This skill is very good if you make your own ranging equipment (weapons, bolts, arrows, etc.) I almost nearly quit on this skill after 95 but i ended up getting the next 4 levels.
-Slayer. If your a Combat person who does not know what to kill, then this is the Skill for you. This skill can be very profitable, time consuming, or if you use a cannon for some special multi-combat tasks, very expensive. Getting this 99 you will get nearly almost every 99 combat skill and your hitpoints. Today this skill is also very good after a while for gaining charms if you pick them up. If you do not cannon all of your tasks and still profit off the rewards, You can use these charms you obtain to level summoning higher.
-Herblore, a very very expensive skill. Today it has been modified for the highest levels of potions for those willing to spend alot of money on 96 (overload potion). Potions help you train combat, so you can kill monsters easier.

-One addition to Runescape I like was the Trade Limit to an extent. This brought out the Grand Exchange! (much like a stock command center where you can buy or sell anything that someone is selling or buying). This has made getting items easier instead of making them yourself or advertising. It saves alot of time for most players. Once they expanded the trade limit for players to give and receive i appreciated it more. The trade limit not only tells you how much you have in the trade, but also functions as a way so you do not get scammed as easy. Sometimes you will get scammed and not knowing it until you notice the item(s) is(are) crashing and you can't really report the person due to his/her's username is often off of the chat box by that time. It has also lowered real world trading, but people still find a way around it using "junk". I really like this mainly because of less scams overall, but it doesn't stop everyone.

-Although I am not very fond of this area of Runescape, to some it is one of the biggest things. PLAYER VS PLAYER, aka PVP. This can be as profitable as it is losing cash for the other person. I try to stay away from this because I myself am not a very good "pker" or player killer at some times, though i dont die it is time consuming.

-QUESTS!!! I LOVE QUESTS. I am very excited when these come out and to see a hint on Twitter about this from Jagex Games Studio, I always try to solve the riddle with my friends. The next day i try to solve the quest and i can once again wear my quest cape again. Once and a while i will not have the skill to get the quest cape that is needed at a certain level. I will train it as fast as i can, but there is not really a skill i cannot do currently =p.

-Penguins! These fuzzy little dudes aren't just for looking at, you can spy on them for special points, can you guess what they are called? YUP! PENGUIN POINTS! Though this is very good, it is made even better if you do two quests to boost the Experience or GP you gain from this.

-Minigames. These have many benefits including some great armour, experience, and items that may be needed.

-Forums. a unique way of advertising when not logged in so you may sell your undesired items for more or less GP. They should make more smilies for this, all i gotta say =p.

-Twitter is a very good thing that Jagex Games Studios has applied to Runescape. You guys should keep up the work, but also you might want to create a link on the home page so more people attend the 'events' you create, be more excited about the new quest, or possibly the new update that will come the next day GMT. Even if Jagex does not put a link up on the page, they should promote more ideas toward it.

-if you have alot of time to kill, you like RPG's, making alot of companions within game, or for any reason you like this game then this game will be great for you because every skill takes time to level up, depending on the skill you may like it, love it, hate it, whatever it may be, Runescape is one of the best games I have played and spent my time into, this goes for console games as well.

~Well whoever you pick for the top 10 i will not keep my hopes up but i would love to receive the membership =) Best of luck to me and others~ ** Ah i would like to know when the winners will be messaged and how**

When I read this thread, and was asked what I liked most about RuneScape, my mind went wild. How could I pinpoint it down to a mere statement.. well that alone just isn't possible. Where to begin...

Ever since I discovered the realm of RuneScape, I guess I've been hooked. I mean yeah sure, there were times in which I drifted, but hey, I was always drawn back and I guess that's what you want to know about.

The first key thing for me is the detailed and complex storyline which creates a virtual reality for those playing to become a part of. This in itself is the most unique factor which I simply love about RuneScape. This goes hand in hand with the extensive quests which help to uncover the history of RuneScape, which intrigues those who can resist the urge to speed through quests (with the help of guides), skipping all the cleverly worded puns and cryptic, mind-boggling messages. But it's these factors which entice me to go out of my way to read the extensive dialogue, to become a part of the adventure.

From these quests and storylines comes the history of the fictional world of RuneScape, but what of the history of the game RuneScape? For those people who have been playing several years, one of the most enjoyable moments is when they think of their favourite pastimes on RuneScape. Exploring the depths of the Karamjian Volcano, or training with that first ever "bffl".

This links to the big enticer, the magnificent community of RuneScape. Look all around, about 99% of people play legitimately, with next to no "scams". The friend's list goes hand in hand with the clan chat system to create one of the most effective social experiences when it comes to online gaming. The best part is everyone shares a common interest in the game, and with this, friends are created and alliances are formed, which creates a new aspect and feel to the game that RuneScape is proud to contain.

But wouldn't you get bored? Wouldn't you run out of quests to do, things to talk about, things to do on RuneScape?
RuneScape has the best skill-system which every player finds entertainment in. There are two ways people tend to train: motivation/determination in achieving a goal, or for simple enjoyment. Whichever the way, the world of RuneScape theoretically revolves around skills, as it is these skills which determine supply and demand of items which the economy relies on. What I'm saying is, it is this skilling system which many players love to be a part of, to accomplish and set new goals with. Words cannot describe the drive which is in a person striving for their beloved target.

And then there are the mini-games. Oh where to start. Maybe with the fact that each and every one is PERFECT. What better than a whole new game and experience within an already outstanding game (I'm sorry, it seems a little demeaning calling RuneScape a "game".. I do hope this isn't taken to heart, I just could think of a better word off the top of my head:)). Each mini-game contains its own remarkable concepts, rules and gameplay. Some rely on teamwork whilst others take a more "King of the Castle" approach. Each are unique in their own rights, and each are fulfilling and thrilling to play. The rewards are the motivation behind some, whilst others are for the social, friendly reasons. Whatever it is though, they are a truly awesome part of RuneScape.

Every single one of these aspects have been brilliantly and cleverly intertwined to create the most enjoyable, the most remarkable online experience. It's shaped many players, created many friendships, and entertained so many people. It's fair to say that you, Jagex, have turned what started out as a game into a virtual world, and for that I say thank you.

What I like best about Runescape? Must be the many ways of making money. You make money and you use the money to have lots of fun. Not that the process of getting money is not fun. Back when I first bought membership I did it just because to earn more money with runecrafting and I have enjoyed reaching rewarding level points at this skill. But runecrafting was not the only way I made money. Woodcutting and fishing are very relaxing ways of making money, surely not the fastest ways, but you can just click the tree or fishing spot and chill out. What about making some planks for construction for a change? Yes, I did that, and at that time it was not bad money! It is not picking stuff from ground, it is not buying stuff from the stores and selling GE, its complexity can be compared to runecrafting - you can have fun making money very different ways. You can be creative at making money. I have not played much MMORPG-s, but it seems like Runescape has the most diverse skilling-end to the game that you can exploit to make yourself powerful through earning loads of cash.

RuneScape is the best, unsurpassed game I have ever played my entire life.

What really keeps me playing and what I truly find irresistible about this dazzling game is the fact that Jagex really cares about its players and will always pay attention to their feedback; not to mention that most of their numerous updates are based on player suggestions. Most other companies see their gamers shallowly like people who pay them, but Jagex are deeper than that.

I also have a high regard for the forums, for after all my web browsing, I have never found forums as extensive and well organized as the RuneScape forums. They are a tool of communication between the developpers and the players, something you rarely see with other games.

I also admire the language and the uncommonness of bugs in the game: I have gained most of my english knowledge from RS, as I started playing at a young age, with my english level being fairly low. But now thanks to RS, I have become a great english speaker. I am even learning french using the french servers! And I must thank the QA team for doing a tremendous job over the years for detecting bugs without players experiencing them.

I have also seen my patience and persistence develop with time, for RS teaches that because of the time and determination needed to level and earn money; and that is something very important in life.

But what I like best above all these things, is the unique, distinctive gameplay RS has: no other game resembles RS in any way, from the exceptional skills, to the massive PvP worlds and random events.
You could be chopping a sky high oak one day, and the other fishing delicious fresh salmon from the many rivers of Gielinor. Or you could be training your magic on a caged lesser demon in the Wizards's Tower, and then going to kill some cockroach soldiers with your mighty longsword; all that while staying on the lookout for unwary players to kill, or simply waiting impatiently for the Mysterious Old Man to carry you to some maze or a surprise exam.

Finally, I would like to congratulate all J Mods without any exceptions, for it takes phenomenal people like you guys (and girls), to create such a rich world like Gielinor.

Ill explain why, the skills is just cool, you could just do anything the construction was an amazing skill i'm not a member but I played in my cousins file its was like awesome and smithing and mining im like out of words, cause you can make your own armor. The monsters I love dragons and its you amazing they drop dragon stuff and d'hide and d'bones! The monsters are everywhere,I love that idea. The armor makes you look cool, strong and the best! Last off all I love cause you make a new life and can be rich, own a house, make new friends, have a job(fishing etc)and last off all the PARTY ROOM!

    Runescape

Runescape is a massively online multiplayer game that you can interact with thousands of people from all over the world. It has great 3D graphics for a browser based game, which runs off of java. The acual game is awe-inspiring, and has so many twist and turns that you wouldnt expect even in games like World of Warcraft, or Guild Wars. Runescape has over 30 quests, lots of armor and wepons, and even special items, such as party hats, santa hats, and halloween masks. If you think this is more then expect out of a free game, Then you can pitch in $5.95 a month, and get 3 times the quests, armor and wepons. Special benifits in the game are for non-members, and members. Overall, my utmost favorite thing in the game is meating new, helpful players, finishing epic quests, and overall, just the experience of a addicting game that will keep you busy for months, and even years to come, with items to colect, skills to raise, and to be the best you can in the game, weather you be a member, or even a non-member.

I think it's the little things that Jagex does that I really like. This past year they've made a point in updating the things that a lot of people tend to overlook like the damage animation system or the character movement animations. It might not seem like much, but it's definitely kept me interested because it's the little things in life that matter.

I like the many quests in runescape. Always involving killing a monster or talking to one of their ugly NPC :D. Theyre is so much thought put into it with players just travelling to new, dangerous exotice new areas. I love how you meet new NPCs in the world which most probably you haven't even heard of before! The quests also give some pretty good prizes, sometimes lame, but some other times, a real life saver (Gold and gems etc.) Questing can also, maybe help you make firends, since runescape is such a wide game with a continously growing community, there are always players to help you on the quest or even do it with you if they're stuck. Also, sometimes you're required to collect some pretty cool items, which in the end you can keep! (Silverlight for example.) That's what I love about Runescapes quests!

What do i like most in RuneScape?

Well.. I like that you can play literally anywhere, at school or at break at work. RuneScape have low requirements and runs in browser, that means you don't have to download for hours to start playing. And that you can play on even on very slow computers. You just open browser lunch RuneScape site and start playing.

Quests.. Quest are real gold of RuneScape. They are not just boring and repetitive "Bold adventurer! I beg for your help! Wolves are killing our sheep. Can you please kill 20 of them and bring me their hearts as proof". Every quest in RuneScape is unique, each one is telling us part of great and beautiful story line and rich realistic history.

Music.. What can I say about RuneScape music? I love it. All fit within arena where they are unlocked and played. Some of they are true masterworks.

Graphics.. I like the style of graphics. And how they are updated. When Jagex upgrade to graphics they are thinking about every of their users. They are making the best graphics they can without increasing minimal requirements.

The gameplay.. How you can try everything without need for making new character or account. One day you can craft, other you can smith and another you can be a famed hero. You can just do whatever you want. How you can do all quests if you have required levels, you don't have to be right race or class, if you have requirements you can do it.

That RuneScape doesn't cover lack of content by grind.. To advance your character, you don't need to grind countless hours to get high level. You can get a lot Xp from quests, mini-games and countless other. You advance just by playing and enjoying content not by mindless grinding.

That it's fair for every one.. You don't have to spend hundreds dollars on game. People can't just buy advantages like "2x Xp for a week" or something. If you are enjoying game you can buy expansion set and get more content but you don't have to. There is really a lot to do even without it.

How game is updated.. You don't need to download anything when Jagex release a new content (patch), it just logs you out and you can play again in few seconds. Nearly every week there is new content, be it quest, new arena, boss etc. There is always something to do in RuneScape.

what do i like the most about runescape?

What i like the most about runescape is the fact that you can't get easy bored from it, because there are a lot of things to do. It doesn't matter if you are a free-player only, as they have a lot of things aswell.

You can kill someone in pvp, or if you are not a pvp fan you can just do skilling. It is worth to mention that there are 15 skills and 24 skills for free-players and members respectively, each of them can be reaised to level 99 and the majoriry of them have different ways to train. Also you can play one of the 29 minigames, if not there is a huge amount of quests to do.Also don't forget about the achievement diaries, clue scrolls, achievement diaries, etc.

Something that i like is that Jagex is now getting more involved with the community therefore you can take part in the community events they host aswell.
You can just talk to a friend if you want to do something else.

In other words what makes runescape special from other games is that it is not monotonous, in fact you will always find something new to try.

    Favourite things on Runescape

My favourite thing to do on Runescape is to play in Clan Wars, as you can fight with any other players, without knowing them, make a strategy, and then actually fight with another group of players. That feels to me like the best way to fight. Add conditions both teams agree on and, in my opinion, you have the perfect mini-game.
Another thing I like about Runescape is the Grand Exchange, as with a bit of starting money you can get all the way to being a very, very rich guy. :)

Anyway, I hope that helped :p.
