Are 3D games becoming the new fad?

Discussion in 'Video Games and Consoles' started by Snowy, Jul 18, 2017.

  1. Video games have been around for many years and have evolved so much in those years. These games started as arcade games, then became games that told stories, and then became open-world games. Their evolution is growing to become more realistic and more 3-dimensional.

Even consoles have evolved to target specially 3D games. For example, the 3DS was released in 2011 and has had a nice library of various 3D games such as Super Mario 3D Land, Pokemon X & Y, etc., and most popular home console games are in 3D.

What do you think about 3D games? Do you think they'll make retro games obsolete? Do you think they're becoming the new fad? Or do you think other types of games are standing up against 3D games?

3D games are more popular with the new generation gamers. Very few young gamers would appreciate retro games.
The retro games, are special and fun on their own, many players enjoy them including me. But as ive said. They dont appeal as much to new gamers anymore sadly. 3D is becoming the more preferred type of game.

Retro games will not go obsolete that quickly however since the market now demands more 3D oriented games....slowly but surely retro games will phase out.
