    The two games are different. Gears of War 2 is great as a shooter game and Guild Wars 2 is great as an MMO. Between the two, I would probably choose Guild Wars 2 since it's become a well-recognized MMO, while Gears of War 2 isn't quite well-known under the shooter genre.
