So, if you haven't already heard of this game lately, it's to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Super
Mario! This will be a short tutorial on how this game works.
So, when you start, you'll probably want to check out "course maker" it's a place where you can play courses (or you can play courses you've already bookmarked, but we'll get to that later) which can inspire you by showing you some possibilities for future creations. So levels may make you feel pathetic, as they have music or they are a giant working calculator, but hey, you haven't even found out how good you create courses yet, so let's start making!
In the beginning you start out with nothing, seriously, nothing. Well, almost nothing. My best advice would be to explore the items you have at hand and find out all the possibilities of ,again, the items you have at hand. Another tip would be to do a simple exploit. Place a bunch of bricks on the screen, until you get enough bricks so the game gives you more items! It's that simple.
After you finish with the basic items you can come to more complex things like keys, fire clown cars, and bumpers. (Which by the way are Mario Maker exclusives!) When you are ready to make a course, you can click the upload button, which than will tell you to beat the level in order to upload it. No troll levels allowed! (Well, sorta) After you complete your course, pat yourself on the back, you have just created your very first course!
So, now let's talk about stars. Stars are earned after other people press the circle button with a,well, star on it. After you get one star, you get a medal with a goomba on it you won't increase your upload limit however. Yes, you do have an upload limit to work with. In the beginning you can only upload 10 courses, and again the goomba medal (the first medal) doesn't increase the upload limit. The next medal however, does increase the upload limit! It has a picture of a koopa, and it allows you to go up to 20 courses! And so on, the 3rd is 30 the 4th is 40 the 5th is 50 the 6th is 60 the 7th is 70 the 8th is 80 the 9th is 90 and the 10 is 100, which is the max.
And anyway, that's all for now! I'll see you later! Bye!

  2. Hasn't even been 6 full years and the original is almost dead; like for instance, you can no longer upload courses as of the end of March. Super Mario Maker 2 is better in more ways, but it just doesn't have the 100 Mario challenge that the original had.
