Check the specs before buying anything but I prefer Asus.

Can't make any specific recommendations but I'd target a 1050 minimum. I'd really shoot for a 1050 Ti though. These in the US market seem to be around $1k normally so sale can help knock them down a little bit more. On the high end go for 1060, 1070 or 1080 but these get crazy expensive quickly. Older hardware wise, 970m or 980m... though both can still be quite expensive. At the absolute bottom I'd put the 960m, I wouldn't go any lower than that at this point.

All in all think 1050 Ti is the sweet spot right now. I have one in my desktop and it holds up really well.

That's why I'm not recommending any specific laptop, just the GPU, that way you can find your own prices. Gaming laptops are just expensive.

If you really need a laptop then buy someone with i5, i7 Intel and with nVidia GTX 850m or better, my cousin have Asus with i5 and GTX 850m!

  11. I've seen some cheap used and refurbished ThinkPad laptops below $100 at a few stores, though I'm not sure how well a ThinkPad would play games. It mostly depends on your GPU and the games you want to play. It's generally a safe route to choose a more expensive laptop though.
