    Favorite Hero: Thor

Why:Thor is the Asgardian God of Thunder and the son of Odin, the All-Father of Asgard and Gaea, the Elder Earth-Goddess. Combining the power of both worlds, Thor is arguably the greatest and mightiest defender of both . Armed with his powerful enchanted hammer Mjolnir, Thor is the mightiest warrior of Asgard, a founding member of the Avengers and one of the strongest, most powerful beings on Earth. Thor can summon and control the powers of the storm, causing rain, wind, thunder and lightning. With it, Thor has shown the ability to create electrical storms, hurricane winds, tornadoes, tidal waves, blizzards as well as earthquakes that have been shown to run across an entire planet. Thor wields one of the most powerful weapons in all of the Marvel Universe; the hammer called Mjolnir. Mjolnir was forged of the metal Uru, by Eitri the troll, for Odin and was given to Thor by him and is extremely durable and it said to be stronger then the virtually indestructible metal Adamantium. Mjolnir was granted mystical energies by Odin himself and has been shown to be able to survive being in extreme environments such as the heart of the sun itself and energy blasts that could have destroyed an entire galaxy. It impacts with sufficient force to "destroy mountains"

My favorite hero is Taskmaster. Setting aside my bias due to liking him as a character, he easily has one of the best values for your dollar (or splinters). He has a variety of versatile playstyles and and an overall very strong toolkit.

As is appropriate for his character, he fits multiple playstyles. Melee, ranged, a hybrid of both, or even a movement-based build are all viable. He's durable, puts out solid damage, and is overall well tuned. His abilities are simple, straightforward, yet satisfying in their execution. His ultimate feels fairly strong as well and is amusing, summoning forth your own army of goons to your side.

For newer players, he's an excellent 200 splinter choice, as it gives you a taste of a bit of everything. Plus, his voice acting and lines are great. Always a nice bonus!

Cable. Cable is my favorite of all the heroes in MH. I don't come from a Marvel background, i don't read the comics, i don't know much of the lore (or didn't when i started playing), most of my exposure was from the X-Men 90s show and various media here and there.

Cable never really stood out for me as someone i would want to play when i was in the Beta. I wanted a ranged hero other then Storm (who i already had a lot of fun with at that point). Punisher was the only hero that really stood out for me, but he was so incredibly lackluster back then... i just couldn't play him. I didn't get that feeling of 'GUNS!' from Punisher like i really thought it would. I didn't even want to use a hero with guns! My thinking was this was a Marvel game and i love mutants. There would be so many cool ranged heroes that "why would i just want a plain old gun?"

So i said sure, why not try Cable. I remember him from the show, and while he never stood out as someone that was 'WOW' for me, i did know who he was. What really clinched him for me when i started playing was his gun. The feeling of POWER behind that gun really drew me in. When he shots, he looks and feel like hes shooting a massively powerful weapon. Adding in his dour 'the future is screwed' talk and attitude was great too. Top it off with a costume that really makes him look like a soldier and really bad-funnel cake... can't beat that.

my favorite character is Deadpool (before Waypool.) Deadpool was interesting to me because his entire life he was simply a victim of circumstance. I am drawn to antihero's as they have the right idea but do things on their own terms and Deadpool was originally a damaged smartass which was great. Deadpools original solo runs like The Circle Chase showed he could wise crack but didnt need to be batshit crazy. I particularly was a huge fan of the arc where he tried to become a hero and rehabilitate Typhoon Mary. she antagonized him to the point he began beating her senseless inside the Hellhouse and she just kept calling him "hero" which struck a serious cord with him. Deadpool WANTS to be accepted as a good guy, and he constantly struggles with himself and his own methods because he is still a merc and still willing to kill without a second thought.

that is before Waypool came along. now, granted, he can be funny and have some great jokes but I feel like Waypool has made us lose what made Deadpool great in the first place. Early in The Circle Chase, Deadpool fights off a squad of mercs while making jokes about them being easier to beat then G.I. Joe toys with kung fu grip. nowadays he runs into anything head first and gets his funnel cake handed to him repeatedly until his healing factor lets him win by default.

lets not forget that during Civil War, Deadpool was able to go up against Falcon, Hercules, Captain America and a few other super heroes and fight TO A STALEMATE, only losing because Cable showed up and got involved. thats how badass Deadpool used to be.

Who: Emma Frost, followed by Ms. Marvel.

Why: Emma is awesome versatile character. She can fight up close to long range combat. Awesome AoE attacks next to Scarlet Witch. (Reminds me of Lightning in FF13, being all versatile.)

Emma in my opinion has the best TTL. With her minion taunt, the mobs (even bosses) will focus on your minion (while taking AoE dmg) while Emma wails on them. With decent or a powerful build, she can't die, probably except Holo Sims or X Defense to some extent. Cosmic terminals is a joke to Emma.

Not to mention, she is one of the best tanks in the game. When build correctly and 100% diamond armor, she can take a hit from Rhino's or Juggernaut's charge attack and live to tell the tale.

Last, her quotes are awesome. My favorite quote of Emma, when she defeats any boss:
    "Life's a ____, and so am I."

    Who: Remy LeBeau a.k.a. Gambit

Why I love him: Lots of reasons I love Remy.

I've always had a thing for playing cards and gambling and the idea of chance deciding fate. There's another character that reminds me of Gambit, Matrim Cauthon from the Wheel of Time. He's a gambler, a fighter, a ladie's man, and he's always getting into trouble no matter where he goes.

The accent. Gambit was the 1st Cajun hero and to me that made him stand out. You know.. they call him Ragin' Cajun.

Redemption. Gambit is a conflicted character. He was abandoned as a child, adopted and then raised as a thief. Now he's a hero, a teacher, a leader, who sometimes clings to his old ways probably due to the fact that that's all he knows and other heroes like the Avengers constantly remind him of his past and how they don't trust him. He's a man trying to outlive his past but he keeps getting pulled back into it or reminded of it, which makes it hard for him to let it go.

He's funny. He's kind of like Spidey in the sense that when he should be worried or scared he isn't. He says funny things even when he is losing a fight. He also has a thing for stealing from the Avengers because people hire him to because he's the only one crazy enough to do it.

His powers. He can charge anything which makes everything a potential weapon. He doesn't run out of arrows like Hawkeye, or need the sun to recharge his batteries like Cyke or Havok. If his hands are free, villains should be worried. Not only that, he has superhuman agility. He's quick, he fights fast, he moves fast. He's deadly accurate almost but not quite on a Bullseye or Hawkeye level. He also can't be detected by telepaths.

He was created by Jim Lee and Chris Claremont, two of my favorites..

I liked Wolverines attitude. Bit of a loner, but still had his heart in the right place. Wasn't really afraid of anything, still had that soft spot though. To me he was just bad funnel cake.
I also liked that he wasn't super powered. He had claws, a bit of healing ((This was WAY before his super healing ability, or the removal of his adamantium)) some feral sense, but mainly he got by because he was tenacious and fairly savage when push came to shove.
He is an underdog type of character, everyone wants to believe in the underdog.
He's the ultimate anti-hero; he has a realistic view on how to deal with terroristic super villains, and takes that responsibility of taking lives on his own consciense and soul.
He's fearless; to have fear is to be caged, Wolverine is not afraid to run headfirst into situations that present nothing but an oppurtunity for pain.
At the end of the day though it's like Wizard said sometime ago. Wolverine doesn't live in stark lines of right and wrong, he understands that a grey area exists and he's constantly trying to exist within that area because he doesn't presume one way to be the best way, at the end of the day he's just a man, trying to be better than he is... and I think we can all relate to that.

The only reason I'm not playing it more is because it runs like crap on my laptop with minimum settings. It's no gaming beast, but it handles games similar to it on medium settings most times at 1366x768 (an awkward res for some games, btw.)

I played during two beta events, each time they set my Store G-Bucks to 2000 ($20-ish.) I wish I'd known, I would have spent more than 1200 the first event! Anyway, it's a good game with a decent variety of characters with their own playstyles.

Skill trees are interesting, with a lot of "older" skills giving a bonus synergy to skills further down the tree in the form of more damage or range or whatnot.

As others have said, characters and costumes come as legendary-rarity drops. Equipment drops are character-specific, but it seems to highly favour your character for your drops. You'll see maybe 10% drop as another character's. High quality drops add typical stats as well as setting or adding more points to certain skills.

With a limited set of hotkeys and a wide range of abilities, each character tends to have a few potential "specs," based on the passive and active abilities you specialize in. Turn Wolvy into a regenerating, single-target-slamming tank or a fast, agile AE specialist.

It has its flaws, but it's a fun game to play for free, and even worth throwing a few bucks at if you find yourself enjoying it. I do recommend mentally planning what your first bought character might be, and ensure your initial character choice is a different role/playstyle. It DOES help to have a "stable" of varied heroes to call on for difficult boss battles, as you can swap them on the field when out of combat. Certain enemies will devour your ranged glass cannon.

Been playing since beta so my review of the entire game till now. Favorite hero is Punisher and have about 9 other characters.

At launch Marvel Heroes started out as a fairly basic ARPG like Diablo clone, it had decent production values and a straight forward story mode. But it's been a year now and with nearly monthly updates to the title the game has really made strides. Replacing character classes in Marvel Heroes, you have essentially a roster of super heroes from all over the Marvel spectrum. With all kinds of choices you have so many different play styles. With a ARPG you would expect overlap, and there is some, but Gaz has done a great job of mostly keeping characters feel fresh and unique from one another even if it's largely just visual in nature. Story extensions have even happened, and quite a few new game modes added to create a form of endgame system. Those systems have continually developed and its amazing how in a year almost the entire game including it's UI has gone a bit of overall.

If you have played an ARPG, you know what to expect from this title, and obviously fan service for Marvel is a huge part of the game, but if your a comic fan, this title is a dream. You have a decent selection of free heroes to choose from, and can earn in game currency to buy more characters even. If you got multiple characters, it's all tied to one account/roster so you can at any time swap out what character you wish to play. You kinda share progress in forms of character synergies that buff other characters in your roster for reaching certain levels with specific characters, and you can also get xp buffs for each character you get to max level.

Marvel Heroes is not a difficult game, but new challenging modes are being added. Game really has made strides to make each hero feel powerful, you mow through hordes of bad guys with ease and your not stuck fighting some basic grunt enemy like something epic. Bosses all come from marvels huge roster of villains as well. This is quite a title for any comic fan, and even basic ARPG fans should enjoy this.

We want quality articles, since we don't have unlimited codes short articles (couple sentences long) generally won't get you a code, sorry.
