I've started a website hosting classic ROMS, and I'm deciding which NES ones to have. I need some suggestions of classic NES games. So far I have up:

    -Super Mario Bros.
    -Super Mario Bros. 2
    -Super Mario Bros. 3
    -Mike Tyson's Punch Out
    -Legend of Zelda
-Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
    -Metroid
    -Megaman

Thanks guys, and I'll be doing this again soon with SNES games once I move on to there. I'm looking to have at least 15-20 NES ROMS first though. Once the SNES ROMS are done too I'm going to open the site to the public.

Comeon guys no NES gamers here?

And for the record ROMS are not illegal. If you bought a copy of the original game your fine. So if I purchased Super Mario Bros. (which I did) many years ago, but now I no longer have my NES, I can legally play the ROM on my computer. Or maybe you bought Legend of Zelda, but the cartridge broke. You can still play the ROM legally. I'm not trying to endorse piracy here, I'm just asking for good NES games.

I'm pretty sure in order for a ROM to be legal you need to have the original in your possession and/or a receipt but I'm not here to argue whats legal and whats not.

    Tecmo Bowl is a classic.

Wait, are you distributing ROMs? Cos isn't that illegal? Not too familiar about the rules about distribution.

Anyway, I don't know much about the NES, but I see that the first Final Fantasy was on it. You should definitely include that. Also, I see Contra is also on it, which should be included as well.

Look if you don't feel ROMS are legal, don't download them. That was not the purpose of this thread, and I'm not trying to start a debate. The point was to ask for classic NES games. (but just for the record, one may own ANY ROM for less than 24 hours and it is not considered illegal).

Tecmo Bowl and Final Fantasy sound good.

Sorry for that. :( My Bad. What about Contra? It's a really good side-scrolling shoot 'em up.

Lol yeah, Tetris ftw! Also, there were some Castlevania games for NES I believe...

  18. NES Classics has really made a huge comeback in 2023. Notably, the score barrier was broken in Tetris, there was the near frame-perfect speedrun of SMB1 any%, there was the 3 minute speedrun of SMB3, and there was the 35 minute speedrun of Metroid 100%.

I'm looking forward to see what other NES games people will break this year.
