You'd want at least 4GB of RAM anyways as Minecraft uses a lot. Beyond that, you'd need a good processor and a solid graphics card as the Shader Mods use a lot of resources. Saying you'd need a 1gb graphics card wont work though as PC specs don't work like that.

As Aaddron said 4GB is minimum, but I would recommend you more. Anyway, If you can't get more RAM, you could use strong processor.

  10. I think shaders and Optifine will work with most modern machines. Minecraft by itself isn't supposed to be a heavy load game.

    Minimum spec, I would say:
    - 8 GB of RAM (at the bare minimum), but I would say go for more if you tend to run background tasks; two sticks of 16 GB DDR4 would be ideal.
    - GPU varies, but most modern-supplied GPUs would work just fine. I would recommend either one of the GTX or RTX graphics cards personally if you tend to play a lot of 3D games or have tasks that do a lot of number crunching.
    - CPU varies, but ideally 4 cores or more with a fast clock speed (in the gigahertz). Clock speed (i.e. number of computing operations per cycle) is far more important than number of cores (i.e. parallelization).
    - Storage: SSD with 1 TB or more capacity (Minecraft doesn't need that much space, but it's good to have enough space for other games). If you want to be cost effective, you could have one SSD that's 512 GB for active storage and some HDDs with larger storage for backups and other storage.

Some of these specs might be overkill for Minecraft, but it's always a good idea to plan ahead and go for a bit higher specs than you think you need.
