The history of aviation was, and still is to some extent, always a game of gaining edges, breaking records and generally pushing the limits of what is technologically possible. As such, it comes as no surprise, that after decades of propeller-driven planes in the first half of the 20th century, it was the new jet-engine propelled aircraft that would usher in a new era in the field of aeronautics. Much more capable in nearly every regard, jet engine planes managed to eradicate propeller-driven aircraft in just a short span of years, and would progress to become the standard even up until today.
Undoubtedly on the forefront of this everlasting push for progress was the German Me 262 Schwalbe. It went down in history as the first ever mass-produced jet fighter, having entered large-scale production in 1944 in a last desperate attempt of the Germans to turn the tides of war. As the first aircraft of its kind, the Me 262 was much faster than any of its competitors and required a new approach, both in how it was used offensively by the Germans and how the Allies had to counter it. Although not without flaws â€“ its high fuel consumption and somewhat limited manoeuverability remained a constant throughout its many versions â€“ the Me 262 went on to become a formidable air superiority fighter, claiming a total of 542 Allied enemy planes in just a very brief operational time.

What history often omits is how the Americans helped influence the outcome of the war through the crucial delivery of military resources, including planes, to the Soviets as part of the â€œLend-Leaseâ€ program.
Today we want to shed a light on this forgotten chapter of US-Soviet relations with the following bonuses in the game:

â€œThe enemy of my enemy is my friendâ€ â€“ thatâ€™s what US-President Franklin D. Roosevelt may have thought when he sealed the alliance to Stalin in November 1941, by officially including the Soviet Union to the pool of recipients for help from the â€œLend-Leaseâ€ program. Despite a strong anti-communist-feeling among Americans, the US felt that aiding the Soviet Union in their fight against the German aggressors would ultimately not only help the Russian people, but also reinstall a much needed balance of powers and help keep Europe in check.
After Germanyâ€™s attack on the Soviet Union in June 1941, the â€œLend-Leaseâ€ arrangement, which had originally begun as an aid to allied Great Britain for their own war efforts against the Nazis, was expanded to a large scale operation, delivering masses of military weapons, raw materials, industrial equipment and food to the ailing Soviets. Among the many resources that the US sent to their newly-found allies were a multitude of trucks, tanks, motorcycles, and also thousands of warplanes, which were meant to help bolster the Soviet fighter units.
â€œLend-Leaseâ€-aircraft, usually consisting of P-40â€™s, many P-39â€™s Airacobra, as well as a lot of A-20 Boston and B-25 Mitchell bombers, would ultimately amount to around a fifth of all aircraft in the Soviet air forces. They became very popular with many Soviet pilots who adapted the original American designs for their own needs, creating among others the P-40 M-105, which you can discover in the game as a Premium plane today.
Over the course of the war, the Soviet Union went on to become the second largest recipient (after the British Commonwealth) of munitions and other materials, valued at a total of 11.3 billion dollars.
It is safe to say that this unlikely alliance between the Soviets and the Americans, both helped to secure the victory over Nazi Germany, and also save millions of Russian lives. It provided the country with much needed assistance in desperate times of outward war and inward political struggle.

I'm pretty sure they meant it as an incentive, besides if you focus on one line only, you can get up to tier 10 within 2 weeks, and this was a special done 2 weeks after release

Well I haven't tried the regular one so I don't really know, but I have tried the premium one, and I have to say I like it. Fast, maneuverable enough, has a decent amount of firepower. I managed to shoot down 7 planes with it in 3 battles. And since premium planes are supposed to be weaker than the regular planes of the same tier, I can only assume regular P40 is better though we should wait for hawx to answer, I think he has tried both

Standard P40 is worse than premium one, because you have fire power or dissent agility. In premium one you have both.

Well then the standard one should be buffed, premium planes are not supposed to be better than the regular planes of the same tier, and in this case it's even worse since we're talking about the exact same plane in 2 variants
