Triple Triad forum dupes - please ignore

Right now I'm interested in Xbox 1. Also very interested in Wii U... assuming Nintendo can get the games going. I wasn't real big into the Ps3 exclusives... lots of fine games but they didn't really fit my tastes so I'm wait and see on Ps4. At the end of the day I'd love to get all of them but picking one I need to see more.

Steambox is a huge wildcard for me right now, love Steam and have tons of games already... but I don't think it's gonna be an actual console like thing, it sounds more like it's gonna be a streaming box using your computers hardware... which vastly reduces my interest... I'd rather just play on the PC. Super excited to hear more about it though.

 

The original, Bungie has made some great Halos and 343 put out a great game in Halo 4 but for me none of them have quite captured the original.

 

Xbox One right now, I love racing games and Forza is a great racing franchise that is unfortunately exclusive to Xbox, that combined with some neat ways Kinect can be used in racing games (like head tracking) plus the rumble in the triggers which could be huge for racing... gotta go with Xbox right now.

 

Well said, completely agree. I've seen gaming as a service in Onlive and I really hated it... still love Onlive as a concept but wow it highlights the problems of gaming as a service, I have no control over the game, when an update breaks a game... it breaks the game, I can't choose not to update. When a game has problems and the developer chooses not to fix it then I'm stuck with the problem... no community patches here. O and if the service goes down, well so does your game.

My worst experience was waiting on them to finally update a game to it's latest patch or fix an issue with their service... your completely at their mercy and wont get anything out of them... it's always "it's being looked into" or "it's being worked on" etc

Onlive wasn't all bad, it offered a lot of cool features and the negatives weren't really anything more than the usual horrible company support but it was a taste for me of what games as a service could be like and it's really a fine line between worth it and just horrible... given they can change the rules at any point makes it even worse, one minute it's acceptable the next it can be total anti-consumer lockdown.
