Snowy commented on the post, Dota 2 or LoL: Which MOBA is better? 3 years, 3 months ago
Personally I’d probably play a different MOBA since I’m more of a casual player. Dota 2 just has a steep learning curve and both games have matches that can take on average 45 minutes to play which just feels too long. If I really had to choose, I’d probably choose League of Legends, but for entertainment (like watching people play), probably Dota…[Read more]

It’s actually not too bad. There’s actually a re-release for this game, a 2016 re-release and a 2018 re-release, but the re-releases seem no different from the original, at least graphically. Game actually seems pretty good though; it has action RPG elements like hack ‘n slash combat and is somewhat comparable to Diablo. Game does have some bugs,…[Read more]

Game is described as being a racing MMORPG, which just sounds like a unique combination. This game has single player missions, but it also has team car racing and PvP for multiplayer. It actually looks fun to play. Artwork is pretty good as well, especially since it’s cel-shaded; it’s actually quite remarkable that a game from 2007 can look and…[Read more]

Pretty good space-themed combat simulation game. Actually looks great for a PC game from the year 2000 since it has a 3D environment. Also has elements of an RTS game like building bases and mining. Game is kind of old that it probably isn’t worth playing today, but at its time, I think it was unique. Overall, I’d rate this game a 3.9/5.

Seems kind of underrated, but I think this game’s pretty cool. Feels a lot like MapleStory, especially since the game is a side-scroller MMO. Artwork looks pretty decent and the game has arena based PvP which is neat. Unfortunately, the game isn’t as good as MapleStory, but it’s actually not a bad alternative to MapleStory. I probably wouldn’t…[Read more]

This one’s actually not bad. Kind of cool that it’s a browser game, and it’s also playable on iOS and Android. The game dates all the way back to 2004, and is still playable today, so I’m guessing the game probably uses HTML5 rather than Shockwave or Flash. But because this game is kind of old, it uses navigation buttons outside of the main game…[Read more]

Snowy commented on the post, Is Madden 22 Worth Purchasing? 3 years, 3 months ago
If the last Madden game you’ve played was from 5 years ago, then I think Madden 22 might be worth it, especially since you’ll see a more noticeable difference between the older Madden and the newer Madden.
But if you’ve played a recent Madden game, like Madden NFL 21, then I think it’s a bit pointless to get Madden NFL 22… unless you’re some…[Read more]

Snowy commented on the post, How Online Games Overtook Old Arcades 3 years, 3 months ago
Arcades are still around, but the arcade machines themselves just aren’t as popular, especially when you compare them with something like Skee-Ball. I think the main issue with arcade machines is that there isn’t much purpose anymore; playing games used to be about getting the highest score, but games have evolved to have much more…[Read more]

For years, Steam seems to have been the most popular service. There have been some competitors like the Epic Games Store, which have moved some developers away from Steam’s service, but seeing Steam’s recent device, the Steam Deck, I feel like this handheld PC will bring in more developers as well as bring back old developers that may have moved…[Read more]

Snowy commented on the post, Why Was Fallout New Vegas So Popular? 3 years, 3 months ago
I think most of it has to do with brand recognition. The Fallout series might be Bethesda’s “magnum opus” after all since it’s been around for so long and has a pretty strong fanbase. Even a game like Fallout 76, which has had criticisms and controversies during release, has done fairly well.

It’s an okay game, nothing too special. You start off the game by choosing one of four playable characters with the option to customize hair color and face and then you get to choose one of five professions early into the game. Game has very basic questing at the start, but it seems like there are thousands of quests, so that’s good. It also has…[Read more]

Kind of old; I think this game was released back in 2005. Graphics isn’t the worse, especially for 2005, but the game hasn’t really aged well. Also classes are gender-locked, and you only have three playable classes to choose from. You can’t even customize your character during character creation which is also kind of unfortunate. Gameplay feels…[Read more]

Game feels too saturated with bright colors and the 3D models are dated. Also not a fan of the isometric overworld since you really have no control over the camera. Game does have PvP though, so that’s nice, but the game is kind of grindy since you have to defeat monsters to level up; you don’t even get a class until level 10, and you only get a…[Read more]

Not bad; I kind of see a strong resemblance of this game to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, especially with the pixel art graphics and the combat to some extent. Probably not the most original, but it does have MMO elements like character customization, interaction with other players, and guilds, so that’s kind of nice. GraalOnline…[Read more]

This game doesn’t really compare to Pokémon in my opinion, and it is a bit boring. Game has an isometric world (not really my favorite) and feels closer to a traditional RPG and MMORPG with four playable characters, guilds, etc. It does have monster taming and collecting, with over 1,000 monsters, but nothing really feels special about the…[Read more]

For gaming PCs, I think it’ll vary a lot. For instance with CPU, you have the long debate about Intel vs. AMD, and honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of them. And it’s generally better to look at the hardware specifications for the game itself to determine what’s right for you. For instance, if I play Minecraft, I probably wouldn’t need any…[Read more]

Snowy commented on the post, Why Online Games Are Beneficial For Students? 3 years, 3 months ago
Kind of depends on what students are learning, because some courses might eat up time that you might not even have recreational time to play games. But generally, I think games are a good way to de-stress oneself, especially after a busy day.
But oftentimes, it’s a distraction. Sometimes I just want to procrastinate on an assignment (too…[Read more]

Snowy commented on the post, Top Strategies for Winning at Online Games 3 years, 3 months ago
It’s too broad to determine strategies to win online games, because there are a lot of games out there which employ different strategies. It’s easier to narrow down by genre, but even then, it’s hard to say what the winning strategy is because even genres vary, and I’m assuming “winning” would imply that these games would generally be associated…[Read more]

Snowy commented on the post, Beating Online Games 3 years, 3 months ago
Online games vary a lot, so what it means to “beat” a game depends on the game itself, but also the player’s play style and objective. Beating a game could mean trying to rank #1 in PvP (e.g. MOBAs and Battle Royale), could mean trying to complete a game’s main story or main missions (e.g. platformers, adventures, RPGs, etc.), or could even mean…[Read more]

Graphics is kind of bad, especially the overworld with the textured graphics. But the concept of this game is pretty cool since it features cars. I don’t know any other turn-based game with tactical car combat, so this game is unique, and you have tons of vehicle customization. But overall, I’d rate this game a 4/5; only thing that would make this…[Read more]
