Not the most appealing game when it comes to graphics. It’s pretty much a 2D tile-based turn-based MMO. Personally, I’d much prefer isometric 3D over 2D tile-based, or at least something that pops out more, or is just more colorful. But gameplay itself doesn’t seem too bad; it feels like an average strategy game. But overall, I’d rate this game a…[Read more]

  • Really like this game. Looks very impressive for an MMORPG from 2005 with a substantial amount of features. Game even features mounts, and not just mounts, but flying mounts, which some MMOs to this day don’t even have. PvP and combat seems pretty good as well. Personally I wouldn’t play it since it is well over a decade old now, but I think the…[Read more]

It’s kind of a cool MMO. Game feels closer to an oriental themed MMO since it has oriental building designs, characters with kimonos and other oriental garbs, and oriental landscape with lakes and bamboos. Not really much to the gameplay itself though other than factions and questing. Overall, I’d rate this game a 3.5/5.

  • Kind of old and doesn’t have good graphics. I’ve seen other games from 2008 with much better graphics, but the graphics in this game feel more like early 2000s graphics. But for an MMORTS, it is kind of unique; the world is huge and you have control over 3D space. But for $20, I don’t think the game is really worth it; it just feels…[Read more]

  • Privacy isn’t really a problem, when it comes to games; usually privacy is more of a concern with social media and other big websites, especially since companies try to get information about you so that they can market their products more effectively. So I think the real advantage of a VPN is to download games not available in your country or just…[Read more]

  • I think the decline of MMORPGs has to do mainly with the increase in popularity of other genres like Battle Royale and MOBA. For instance, once you complete story quests and craft everything you want to craft in an MMORPG, what else is there to do? Some MMORPGs have pretty good PvP which can keep players engaged in the MMORPG genre for a long…[Read more]

  • 150,000 players getting banned from PUBG is quite astonishing; I mean, that’s kind of a big number. But I guess it’s not a surprise, when you consider that there are several millions of players. SteamCharts only has records of concurrent players, and there were 1,334,170 concurrent players playing PUBG as of November 2017; but for total…[Read more]

  • Overwatch was certainly popular in the year 2017. As for Agar.io, I didn’t feel like that game stayed that popular; certainly was popular in 2015 and 2016, but I felt like other io games like Slither.io was more dominant than Agar.io.

NosTale seems average. Graphics are looking very clean despite being from 2009. It’s an anime-style MMORPG, so that’s neat, but I would probably say this game is average for an anime-style MMO. Doesn’t compare to other anime MMORPGs like Elsword or Maplestory which are more innovative with things like combat and side-scrolling, but I do like the…[Read more]

Not too bad. This MMORPG is kind of old now, and the game has a successsor called “CABAL 2” which I think looks better since it uses CryEngine 3, but I don’t think the sequel was as popular as the original CABAL Online and it seems like the sequel shut down in 2018. But CABAL Online was pretty good for it’s time; has both PvP and PvE, and things…[Read more]

  • Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning is a really great game, actually looks amazing for an MMO from 2008. That is, the game has pretty good lightning and has a lot of details in the overworld. Game also has realms vs. realms combat, kind of like Dark Age of Camelot; I guess Mythic Entertainment was first to introduce this form of PvP, but it’s kind…[Read more]

Cool hero-themed game. Really like how the game looks, particularly the main menu, since it looks just like a comic. Game does feel a bit old though, and you can tell when you actually get into the gameplay and see the overworld and the 3D models, but I feel like all of the hero-themed stuff like the text boxes and text bubbles kind of distract me…[Read more]

Looks kind of cool, but I think it needs an update on graphics, especially the models since the polygons are apparent. For an open beta in 2015, this game feels like it’s years behind. I do like the concept of combining martial arts and science fiction, but it’s hard to tell how well that works in this game without playing the game. Also the…[Read more]

  • I think GDC is kind of cool. Never attended the event (since it’s far away), but you can learn interesting things about game development from these conferences. There are a ton of GDC videos on YouTube about game development; the latest one I’ve watched is the one about end-to-end procedural generation in Caves of Qud, and I think it’s kind of…[Read more]

  • It’s kind of interesting how Steam’s hardware has evolved over the years. First, you had the Steam Machine and a modified version of Arch Linux called SteamOS, and then 6 years later, you now have the Steam Deck with better support for games (with Proton for compatibility of games on Linux-based operating systems).

Steam Machine might be dead…[Read more]

  • Modding just depends on the game itself and what rules the game developers impose. If it’s an old game, modding can rejuvenate that game by adding more content. Some mods even spawn their own games, like how DOTA became it’s own standalone game. And then you have games like Minecraft and Garry’s Mods with probably the largest modding community of…[Read more]

  • Not surprising that big companies are getting into the gaming market, especially since they control much of the Internet. Microsoft was already ahead of the game with Xbox, but now you see Amazon buying Twitch and Facebook buying Oculus VR. I don’t think it really means much, other than companies trying to expand their reach.

Pretty fun game that’s about upgrading just to continuously progress further. Not sure what genre these types of games fall under (I guess “Upgrades” is technically the genre this game belongs in, but I like to call this genre the “Anti-Idle” game since it’s incremental like an idle game, but the complete opposite of an idle game), but it’s kind…[Read more]

  • Probably one of my most disliked games having played this game on Kongregate, since Flipline Studios is notorious for having “Papa’s” games revolving around the same concept of serving food to customers. This game, along with other Papa’s games like Papa’s Freezeria and Papa’s Burgeria, is no different from Papa’s Pizzeria. It’s, for the most…[Read more]

It’s a puzzle game perfect for kids. You play as a car, interact with objects in the overworld (which are like obstacles), and try to reach the red flag. For the most part, it’s simple to play, but there is a lot of variety in the levels themselves. If you want to challenge yourself a bit, you can try to get three stars in every level. Overall,…[Read more]
