Looks interesting. I think I heard about 2Dots long time ago for mobile, but I’ve never personally played it.

Snowy commented on the post, How Did League of Legends Become the Most Popular eSport in the World? 2 years, 10 months ago
I think League’s success is almost like Fortnite’s success. When you conquer an entire genre, you can shape is however you want. In this case, League of Legends shaped the MOBA genre to what it is today, and that’s why the game’s a frontrunner in the eSports world.

Snowy commented on the post, Why Online Gaming Is More Popular Than Sports 2 years, 10 months ago
I think video games are more likely to be popular than sports just because people themselves can get into the games, even the competitive video games. On the other hand, not everyone is athletic to compete in actual sports, and so they might not have a huge interest in sports. Plus, 2020 and 2021 has really popularized indoor activities, so that…[Read more]

Snowy commented on the post, Is Working in Games Development Worth the Effort? 2 years, 10 months ago
Game development is worth it, if you have the plan, a proper team, and sometimes even the right funding. Certainly not easy in this current time since the video game industry is massive, but not impossible.

Not surprising that many video games originated in scientific labs. Fun fact, Soviet software engineer Alexey Pajitnov created Tetris while working at a government-funded lab.

Seems interesting for anyone really invested in Marvel. I never really pictured a sequence for those movies since I don’t really keep up with every Marvel movie, but it makes sense.

Snowy commented on the post, Advantages and Disadvantages of Online Games in 2021 2 years, 10 months ago
I feel like health issues isn’t a big deal like it used to be, at least in 2021, considering VR and motion control have made indoor gaming more “physically active” and AR has made outdoor gaming also active (e.g. Pokemon GO). Plus a lot games have made “quality of life” improvements to cater to a more general audience. Just depends on the online…[Read more]

Snowy commented on the post, Why Are More People Investing in the Gaming Industry? 2 years, 10 months ago
I think gaming in general has becoming more mainstream in our lives. Video games used to be more taboo, where kids would be encouraged to go outside more often and people would blame video games for negative side effects. Nowadays, gaming is ingrained in every aspect of our life, plus games are more expensive than they used to be probably due to…[Read more]

Snowy commented on the post, Things to Consider When Picking Mobile Game Applications 2 years, 10 months ago
Active and accessible is probably the most important, and from my point of view, the biggest problems I’ve encountered with mobile games are 1) aside from downloading an app that’s some number of GBs, the game requires additional GBs of storage for the device [usually for a lot of 3D mobile MMOs and ARPGs] and 2) the way the game is serviced since…[Read more]

Snowy commented on the post, Having Problems With Your Game Lagging? 4 Ways To Solve The Issue 2 years, 10 months ago
From my experience, a lot of my lag issues come from network issues, so I’ve found it more effective to connect an ethernet cable to my PC. Other times, the issues stem from server issues with the game itself, and so connecting to a server closest to your region or even using a VPN could resolve the problems.

Snowy commented on the post, Social Media, Dedicated Websites, and Magazines: What are the Best Ways to Stay Up-to-Date with the Gaming Industry? 2 years, 10 months ago
YouTube is probably my favorite method of keeping up with game news, especially watching content creators talk about games and even making speculations. Newsletters are my least favorite though; they just clutter up my email and sometimes appear as junk mail.

Snowy commented on the post, The Best Horror Games 2 years, 10 months ago
The games are alright; definitely great when they were first released, but I feel like newer horror games have taken more of the spotlight in recent times. Personally my favorite for 2021 is probably Phasmophobia.

Snowy commented on the post, Movie Review of “Free Guy” 2 years, 10 months ago
Seems like it would be an interesting movie, and it’s not the first “video game” themed movie that actor Ryan Reynolds has starred in (since there was Detective Pikachu a couple of years ago).

Snowy commented on the post, Best 2022 PC Games 2 years, 10 months ago
For me, it’s hard to tell what the best 2022 PC games will be since 2022 just started. Usually the best games are released around the holidays and announced in the summer leading up to the holidays.

Looking at laptops for 2021, the new Macbook models are probably the best bang for your buck, especially in performance with the M1 chip.

Snowy commented on the post, How Do British People Spend Their Free Time And Has This Changed Over The Years? 2 years, 10 months ago
I don’t think the British demographic is really that different from any other demographic, especially when it comes to gaming. Sure, there are stereotypes associated with them (tea, rugby, etc.), but the same could be said about the American demographic (American football, fast food, etc.).
I think on a general level, games are universally…[Read more]

Snowy commented on the post, Shopping For Gaming Equipment? Here Are Things To Look Out For 2 years, 10 months ago
I think the most important factor to keep in mind, when purchasing gaming equipment, is considering upgradability. So it would be most important to focus on the parts that are the least upgradable (SSD [get a good one that will last from a trusted brand such as WesternDigital Blue with preferably 2TB which should be more than enough storage],…[Read more]

Snowy commented on the post, Can a $1000 Gaming PC Run Call of Duty: Warzone at 144 FPS? 2 years, 10 months ago
144 FPS is kind of insane. One consideration is whether you can find all of the PC parts to even construct the desired gaming PC, since it’s kind of difficult to find parts for an enthusiast gaming PC build.

Snowy commented on the post, Is Historical Accuracy Important in Historical Video Games? 2 years, 10 months ago
If a game was historically accurate, I think it would feel like reliving events that you would already know the outcome of, which just isn’t that interesting. I think creativity and imagination is indeed important since it actually gives purpose to the audience. Even a game that’s more in the realm of “alternate history” would probably be captivating.

Snowy commented on the post, Is it Better to Game on iOS or Android? 2 years, 10 months ago
iOS is a solid choice. Unfortunately a good amount of mobile games became unsupported for devices up to the iPhone 6 (I think iOS version 10), but I’m feeling confident that the newer iPhones will be sturdy for gaming for a long time. Not so sure about Android though, but I don’t see a point in getting an Android device since there are better…[Read more]
