Seems very unique. I would probably say it’s closer to a hack and slash third-person shooter than an MMORPG though since there aren’t really elements of RPG in this game. Gameplay seems fast-paced and kind of fun, especially when playing with friends or other players, and the combat animations are kind of crazy when your character is moving and…[Read more]

  • It’s an alright game. Has all of the basic features of an RTS, but also has 3D (making units and structures stand out a bit more) and a pretty big map. Graphics feel very dated though, with dull colors and poor textures. Overall, I’d rate this game a 3/5; even though the game is from 2006, it just hasn’t aged well.

  • I think SmartCell Technology stopped developing this game for mobile phones due to technical difficulties and made the PC version their focus, but it’s pretty cool that they even managed to get this game on a phone in the first place. Not really a huge fan of this game since it’s isometric 2D, making the gameplay point-and-click, but it’s kind of…[Read more]

  • Seems kind of cool, but this game is heavily text-based and requires a good bit of know-how on typing commands and actions. Also requires a lot of imagination since there aren’t really game graphics to accompany interactions going on in the game; it feels much closer to many other Terminal games. But nevertheless, game might be great for those who…[Read more]

It’s martial arts themed, so that’s kind of cool, but the game just isn’t that impressive. The game has four playable classes, but unfortunately classes are gender-locked, so it’s highly limited, and you can’t even customize hair, face, or anything. Game is point-and-click to move character in the overworld and WASD to move camera, so not the most…[Read more]

Very obscure game. You’d really have to dig deep to find this game, but it’s an RPG developed by Core Engineering. The game is free-to-play, and it’s playable on a browser (although quite frankly, I don’t even know if this game is around anymore since I can’t even find a link to the game, and there’s not even any footage of this game as far as I…[Read more]

  • Not really impressed by the game. For the most part, it feels like any old-school isometric 2D MMO with your typical turn-based combat. Kind of cool that the game has four playable races (human, centaur mage, or borg) and has a pet system, but not much else to get excited about. The game also has a direct sequel called Myth War 2, but I don’t…[Read more]

Not exactly sure if it’s an MMORPG, but the Steam page for this game says it’s an open-world survival sandbox RPG which actually seems kind of neat. Looks very impressive, especially since the current version uses Unreal Engine 4, and I think Snail Games’ acquisition of this game back in 2008 allowed for so much improvement. You get to choose one…[Read more]

  • Doesn’t look as good since textures in the overworld aren’t the best, but the combat is on another level with its effects. Unlike most MMOs, combat is a bit more gore-y featuring blood. I think the game even has an option to turn off the effects, so that’s nice for players that aren’t interested in the effects. Classes are pretty decent, with a…[Read more]

It’s a PvP MMO, so not much else to expect other than anything related to combat. Game did recently get released on Steam (as of February 5th, 2021), but the game still has its dated graphics. Character creation is very extensive, with various races, classes, attributes and customization for skin, hair style and color, beard style and color, etc.,…[Read more]

Looks like a fun first-person shooter game. Graphics isn’t the best, but it’s alright. Game has six game modes, with some that are very common like Capture the Base (kind of like CTF), Conquest Mode, Individual Death Match, and Team Death Match. The two modes that I think are kind of interesting, or at least unique, are AI Mode (where players…[Read more]

Game is very obscure that you probably won’t find it easily just from searching the name, and I’ve only seen a few screenshots of the game, just not any gameplay footage unfortunately. Strangely, visiting the website to this game redirects you to AlterVerse, so I’m guessing the game is dead or abandoned now, and the developer of the game (Jalen…[Read more]

For an MMO dating to 2004 (Korean release) and 2006 (U.S. release), graphics are actually pretty good; game makes pretty good use out of the bloom effect. And for the theme itself, which is more of a blend of sci-fi and fantasy, the game has elves and mech characters as a race option, and weapons ranging from guns to swords. Customization options…[Read more]

  • Seems like an alright MMO; not too impressed with it since it’s isometric 2D and the animations can look a bit clunky. Features like in-game video chat system and automation / robot system seem pretty cool, but just unnecessary. Video chat system could be convenient, but there are already other (and better) means of connecting with players outside…[Read more]

A bit of a bizarre MMO. Characters are dressed in Japanese school attire; seems like RAN Online is more school-themed, which is just very uncommon for MMOs. Combat feels more like a beat ’em up than anything you’d expect from an MMORPG or RPG. I would probably classify the game more as an online fighting game than an MMORPG just from the combat,…[Read more]

Seems alright. Game has decent amount of character customization, but mainly color choices. Overworld textures aren’t that impressive, but it’s an old MMO after all. I kind of like how you start the game off with your own fairy though; makes the game feel a bit more fantasy-like although the dull colors don’t really give that vibe. Game does have…[Read more]

It’s an alright game; nothing really stands out that much. Despite being called “Elf Online”, characters don’t really look like elves at all. Character creation feels limited, as there’s only hair customization. Turn-based combat is kind of neat since it feels like a traditional RPG where the player and enemy takes turns. Not a huge fan of the…[Read more]

Looks amazing. Game might be from 2007, but the cel-shaded graphics is on another level, making the game look more modern. Not sure how I feel about the black outline around the character model since it makes everything feel cartoon-ish, almost comic-like, but not quite; art style feels almost similar to Borderlands, but I think this game looks…[Read more]

Game dates back to 2004, but looks quite modern; the overworld itself actually looks nice since it has actual grass and it uses effects like fading of objects from a distance. I think the biggest strength of this game is that it’s open-source, so the game is community developed allowing for such improvements. Character creation is nice; you have…[Read more]

Seems pretty cool. The art style is alright; I feel like the game tries to overdo textures, especially in the leaves of trees. Game has plenty of customization, so that’s really good. Also pretty good amount of quests and overworld locations like caves, deserts, ice caves, etc. From what I’ve heard about this game, the game did have issues with…[Read more]
