    • Pretty good advances in gaming technology, some going as far back as a decade or even two decades ago. I think Nintendo’s created the eCard reader to scan the barcode of an eCard which was kind of the earliest form of “DLC” which unlocked bonus content in some Game Boy Advance games. And there’s also the Amiibo which I think actually uses NFC instead of RFID, but it’s still a similar concept, just for an entirely different purpose than evaluating player’s habits in real-time.

      When thinking about companies that have created interesting and innovative peripherals, I’d say Nintendo is the biggest video game publisher to come to mind.

    • Having good equipment definitely does help build a better audience, because the audience can see that you’ve put effort to making the stream presentable. However, I’ve seen streamers that started out their streaming career with decent equipment, and grew over time and improving their stream quality, so it’s not impossible to be a successful streamer starting out decently.

      I think the biggest thing an audience looks for is personality since that’s what makes a streamer stand out from everyone else. If not personality, then it would be how skillfully you play games.
