Seems like it would be an interesting movie, and it’s not the first “video game” themed movie that actor Ryan Reynolds has starred in (since there was Detective Pikachu a couple of years ago).

The games are alright; definitely great when they were first released, but I feel like newer horror games have taken more of the spotlight in recent times. Personally my favorite for 2021 is probably Phasmophobia.

YouTube is probably my favorite method of keeping up with game news, especially watching content creators talk about games and even making speculations. Newsletters are my least favorite though; they just clutter up my email and sometimes appear as junk mail.

From my experience, a lot of my lag issues come from network issues, so I’ve found it more effective to connect an ethernet cable to my PC. Other times, the issues stem from server issues with the game itself, and so connecting to a server closest to your region or even using a VPN could resolve the problems.

Active and accessible is probably the most important, and from my point of view, the biggest problems I’ve encountered with mobile games are 1) aside from downloading an app that’s some number of GBs, the game requires additional GBs of storage for the device [usually for a lot of 3D mobile MMOs and ARPGs] and 2) the way the game is serviced since some mobile game apps go overboard with nagging the user with ads every 1-5 minutes.

For absolute newbies learning to program games, I think simple games to create would be games like:
– Guess a number between 1-100
– Rock Paper Scissors
– Blackjack
– Hangman

I think those examples are typical games you’d seen in any intro to programming.

I think gaming in general has becoming more mainstream in our lives. Video games used to be more taboo, where kids would be encouraged to go outside more often and people would blame video games for negative side effects. Nowadays, gaming is ingrained in every aspect of our life, plus games are more expensive than they used to be probably due to their popularity.

I feel like health issues isn’t a big deal like it used to be, at least in 2021, considering VR and motion control have made indoor gaming more “physically active” and AR has made outdoor gaming also active (e.g. Pokemon GO). Plus a lot games have made “quality of life” improvements to cater to a more general audience. Just depends on the online game, I guess.

Seems interesting for anyone really invested in Marvel. I never really pictured a sequence for those movies since I don’t really keep up with every Marvel movie, but it makes sense.

Not surprising that many video games originated in scientific labs. Fun fact, Soviet software engineer Alexey Pajitnov created Tetris while working at a government-funded lab.

Game development is worth it, if you have the plan, a proper team, and sometimes even the right funding. Certainly not easy in this current time since the video game industry is massive, but not impossible.

I think video games are more likely to be popular than sports just because people themselves can get into the games, even the competitive video games. On the other hand, not everyone is athletic to compete in actual sports, and so they might not have a huge interest in sports. Plus, 2020 and 2021 has really popularized indoor activities, so that would be another reason for the decline in sports.
