Makes me wonder how many more updates there will be for GTA Online.

I know this good trick to write a good essay with! Just do it yourself and save yourself money because you obviously need some as a student and a gamer.

Not something I would consider at all. Having a writing service actually do your essays doesn’t benefit the student/gamer at all, plus there’s a huge risk of expulsion in many colleges and universities on the line for that sort of stuff. Someone that’s unenthused with their writing course might just have to rethink about their major, but if it’s just a struggle on how to write I think it’s better to find online references, like Purdue. But a writing service wouldn’t be too bad, if you’re just looking for someone to proofread and give feedback (just don’t have the service do the whole essay for you).

Just like sports, video gaming can give you similar benefits which shouldn’t be that surprising. RTS games are great games to improve your multitasking on for example.

Players want to optimize their damage output when doing PvM so it’s a obvious pick for those that want to get more damage done against dragons while fighting against them using ranged.

It’s interesting to see how new technologies are going to affect gaming.

Any future gaming will be based on today’s technology for sure. It’s been like that forever. The big thing is, how will current technology be innovated? Like with VR, virtual reality was around in the 90s with the red-monochrome Virtual Boy, but it wasn’t the best at the time, and now VR is more improved and better than before. Everything happens in sequential steps.

I used to play Mahjong a long time ago and enjoy it. A game like this will never disappear.

It’s a simple matching game, but I feel like setting up Mahjong can be somewhat challenging, especially if you’re stacking tiles on top of each other, because you’ll already know the pattern of the tiles. But on online Mahjong, I think it’s better since you don’t have to deal with so much of the hassle.

It probably comes with complimentary bugs and glitches.

With the announcement Half-Live: Alyx, I hope VR keeps moving forward and there will be more great VR games in future.

Cloud-based gaming didn’t seem as popular as Stadia made it sound. And I don’t hear a lot about Stadia these days.

This adventure sure feels spiky when we have to fight against our fellow ogres that have been mislead.

If you actually want get money from gaming, you should either look into streaming or going competitive.

Sticking to one esport does seem reasonable. If you try branching out, you end up having to juggle multiple things and that could end up messing you up.

Gamification in Gaming? That’s not how you use that term.

Article didn’t really explain what “gamification” was which could be confusing for some readers; it just jumped into using the term to explain certain causes and effects or results, which only gives the reader interpretations.

But anyway, gamification is a strategy that mimics experiences of games into other activities such as learning, crowdsourcing, knowledge retention, etc. by employing certain game designs like point-keeping, problem solving, competition, etc. It seems to mainly be about boosting morale and engagement for people who aren’t as enthused.

It’s nice to see that Magic actually got a proper digital version now!

Pokémon TCG is actually kind of neat; I sometimes tune into their TCG tournaments on Twitch around the time Pokémon does their VGC tournaments. But I think most people just collect the cards mainly for collection these days, instead of for playing with, especially the full art cards and the holographic cards.

Yu-Gi-Oh! still has a pretty good competitive scene though, considering it’s a little more complex with strategies involving spell cards, trap cards, and monster cards. The newer Yu-Gi-Oh! card games are much different than the ones from the early 2000s where people used to main cards like Pot of Greed, Monster Reborn, Polymerization, and powerful monster cards like Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

There are a lot of Sonic games out there and they have spots in both ends of the spectrum.

Sonic is still quite memorable. SEGA released “Sonic the Hedgehog™ Classic” on Android and iOS years ago, but with ads. I think it’s fun to play, if you’re into classic video game throwbacks.

The newer Sonic games feel more like games specifically catered to fans. For instance, I remember that fans would create their own Sonic-esque fan art all over DeviantArt, and then at some point, Sonic Forces was released with full character customization.

This list could have been bigger and more older fantasy games could also been part of this list.

Final Fantasy is a pretty obvious franchise to pick; Final Fantasy X isn’t as great as Final Fantasy VI or Final Fantasy VII in my opinion, but it is still pretty good. It’s essentially the same RPG experience more or less.

Social and economic impacts do go hand to hand and it’s definitely true for esports and online games.

Star Wars is popular so things that came out of it are expected to be popular but sometimes things don’t go so well.

Highly modded games have communities around them which have a lot of knowledge on modding so getting into modding games like Skyrim shouldn’t be too big of a hassle.

Usually the two simplest ways to create a mod for a game is 1) finding a modding community and 2) referencing an existing mod, either building on top of an existing mod or using parts of an existing mod. It’s a lot easier, if the game you’re modding is already popular; otherwise, you’re going to hope there’s some good documentation somewhere.

This is a very nice list and I kinda expected to see GameOgre Forums AQ3D weapons here.

I would say most of these game are very well known and that shouldn’t be a surprise on an editorial about popular games.
