    • Both virtual and augmented realities are improving as the time goes on and it really shows.

    • Augmented reality is slowing down, it feels like; Minecraft Earth is already shutting down this June and the Pokémon GO hype has already dwindled, and I feel like the pandemic’s played a huge part in slowing down the progress of augmented reality. Smart contracts and cryptocurrency, on the other hand, seems to be skyrocketing, so I think that’s the current biggest trend.

Games isn’t just only for entertainment or a way to spend time and money (just like some of our parents always say xD). It’s really just a matter of right discipline to be a real Gamer. Converting our acquired skills ingame and putting it to use irl for me is the best way to really use online games. I personally Developed my whole knowledge in speaking in english just by playing so many online games and by being with everyone around the globe. Games isn’t just about entertainment, it is way more than that and It has the ability to have even further potential, We just need to be disciplined. Thumbs up to this article It fires me up as a gamer lol.

    • Some things feel pretty obvious. Of course playing online games would open a window to a whole variety of other games; you have tons of genres out there, and it’s more of an intrinsic part of gaming rather than an advantage, I would say.

The thing about online gaming giving players the opportunity to play more than one game at the same time is more of a variable though, and it’s dependent on factors like the game itself and the hardware. Not all online games are equally the same, since a game could be taking up most of your computer’s resources or the game could require a lot of attention. So it depends on the situation.

  • In the recent past, playing computer games was considered entertainment only. The rapid rise of esports changed that completely, as they are starting to look more and more like traditional sports.

Simulator games is indeed one of the best game genre that will manifest the player’s real attitude/skills (somehow). Having the feeling that you are really the one doing all the stuff ingame is a plus point in spending a large amount of time gaming. I personally would love to try the Farming Simulator!

    • More and more game series are going mobile. The question is: whose interests are the priority? Player’s interests or publisher’s?

    • More games are moving to mobile, that part is certain. But what games we can expect on mobile depends mainly on hardware. For instance, the ARM processor for mobile devices is mainly designed to be less power-hungry and more conservative on the battery, which can be a good or bad trade-off depending on the type of gamer you are. I think hardware will continue to improve though, so we can expect more powerful games on a mobile device as semiconductor chips improve.

And there are already phone accessories compatible with many games, like bluetooth controllers, so there’s nothing to worry there. People will always find a way to make games enjoyable since limitations breed creativity.

    • More games with the Vampires as a main focus would be nice.

    • Pretty good games, but I feel like the one series this list is missing is Castlevania. The Castlevania series is like the cream of the crop for vampire-themed games, and I think the best game that represents that is Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 since you get to play as Dracula.

    • Doom Eternal is definitely something to look forward to!

    • Luigi’s Mansion 3 was kind of cool, especially after playing Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon. Definitely felt like a whole new experience moving from the 3DS to the Switch.

Pokémon Sword and Shield were alright though. Not as bad as fans criticized the game for, but not as exciting as the previous main series installments of the series. But it is far better than the Let’s Go series. Sword and Shield really tried to be an open world experience by introducing the wild area, and there really wasn’t a whole lot of memorable experience since it felt like most of the focus was put into the wild area which got boring after a few months of playing through it. Dynamax and Gigantamax features felt far worse than Mega Evolutions, but slightly better than Z-Crystals.

The Outer Worlds was fun though. The Switch version came out last June, so it’s no longer exclusive to Windows, PS4, and Xbox One.

    • Cloud gaming seems to become more common as time goes on and that can lead to more games being cross-platform games.

    • I don’t think Apple is really that interested in the cloud gaming market, even though they’d probably gain some traction if they could revolutionize their iPhones to play PC games, especially since ARM-based devices aren’t optimized for power-hungry games and cloud gaming would probably be a solution to that. But iPhones aren’t really designed for those games in the first place, and the market for hardcore mobile players is extremely small, so it would kind of be a bad move for Apple to invest in cloud gaming. Also, Apple doesn’t really have as large server infrastructures as Amazon, Microsoft, and Google do, so they’d probably run into more problems.

  • Video games have been an inseparable part of youth since the 2000s. When the first games appeared, aimed to be played with Xbox, for instance, they sparked a great passion in teens, that sometimes even grew into […]

    • Video games are a form of escapism but they can turn into the exact opposite in a good way (you making a job out of it) or in a bad way (you can’t bring yourself to do anything else, even though you are supposed to be concentrating on the important things).

    • Generally the best way to make games less intrusive is making it an activity you do once or twice per week, like on weekends. Personally, I get bored playing the same game every day, so it’s not hard for me to put my focus onto other things. It’s usually about making the gaming experience special.

Plus if you have friends, like at a college, you could plan out video game weekends. Then when they’re busy during the week, you’ll have things to focus on as well, then on weekends, you can play games with friends again.

    • Loot Boxes are being regulated by the very people who are pushing them to be gameplay affecting. EA is definitely the most known offender of putting predatory loot boxes in their games.

    • Pretty much most games these days are designed to be an addiction for children. Banning loot boxes is only one step, but I think it’s mostly in the hands of parents to be responsible for their children (and also their duty to not expose their credit cards where children can easily use them). But considering the Internet is like Pandora’s box and parents can only do so much to protect their children, especially up to a certain age when they’ll need to rely more on the Internet, some of these interventions are necessary.

    • Classic WoW is just around the corner and the hype for it is real and that is proof enough that MMORPGs are still popular.

      • After seeing how things went after Classic WoW came out, it really does seem like MMORPGs are still on the gaming map. I wonder how things will work out for it when it reaches its last content phase?

    • Yep they’re still popular we’re also seeing more mobile mmorpgs

    • I’d say MMORPGs are becoming stagnant, especially newer ones, since they’re being overshadowed by many other genres and an explosion of other new games. MMORPGs used to be type of games that would impress people, opening them up to a brand new gaming experience, but the expectations have dwindled since games like WoW, TERA, and other popular MMORPGs have established themselves for years now. People are generally looking for games that divert to newer experiences; it used to be MMORPGs that dominated the industry in mid 2000s to the late 2000s, then it was MOBAs that dominated the early 2010s, then it was Battle Royale that dominated the late 2010s and early 2020s.
