Monopoly is so fun if I still had the board game I’d be playing it with my family even as adults

“Analogue” sounds a bit weird for describing non-digital games, because I tend to think of analog clocks or something relying on a physical mechanism such as pressure, volume, gravity, water, etc.

But anyway, it’s no surprise that non-digital games are moving to digital platforms. A lot of popular tabletop games (card games, board games, dice games, etc.) are already like that, including Uno, Pandemic, Arkham Horror, Magic, etc. Considering the Internet is an open place full of new faces, it’s no surprise that these games are on digital platforms; plus, you don’t have to rely on finding real-life friends to play games with, when you can play online with other people.

Gaming has it benefits and drawbacks just like anything else.

I also like online gaming cause you can keep track of statistics

Online video games have that social aspect to them that can make the experience different compared to offline games.

Theyre also good for your heart and brain because it stimulates!

Definitely think more online games should be played in school, maybe as a reward when the class is going well

Does depend on the game, but generally games keep children emotionally enthralled, kind of like waking up on a Christmas morning to open up a new game or console. That kind of positive attitude increases dopamine levels in the brain and can be great at eliminating depression.

But when it comes to games itself, there are various games that are useful for children, especially in education, from typing games to problem-solving games and so on: games like LightBot which teaches kids how to code or think about logic, games like BrainAge which teaches problem solving, games like Minecraft Education Edition which allows students to collaborate and work together, etc. Even growing up, I’ve seen other people including myself getting entrenched in games.

I am happy that Minecraft is still going. The community has made so much with this game using imagination and creativity.

Not a fan of Microsoft having control over Minecraft, but it’s still a good game. Game’s had its ups and downs between updates.

I didn’t know they had Civilization on mobile Ive watched youtubers play it on steam. I hope its not too clunky

Some of these games are alright on mobile, usually newer phones perform the best because of better hardware. But whenever possible, I think the PC versions are the definitive.

They also kill a lot of time when you’re bored lol

A gaming desk? What’s next?

I think products marketed as a “gaming” product are typically overpriced. You can usually find similar products, if not better. Honestly the only product with “gaming” prefixed into the title that’s worth it would probably be a “gaming PC”, but I feel like it’s a misnomer, because a gaming PC can do so much more than just gaming, especially doing things like run machine learning tasks or giving you enough GPU to run Photoshop or other things.

It’s interesting to see class builds and what they are made out of. Will there be more of these?

Finland is also home for many good CS:GO players, so this is very exciting to see unfold!

It’s good to try demo of the game you are looking forward to getting and completing.

I never really beat online games I just play until I’m not longer having fun or when trolls/cheaters taking up more than half of the population.

Online games vary a lot, so what it means to “beat” a game depends on the game itself, but also the player’s play style and objective. Beating a game could mean trying to rank #1 in PvP (e.g. MOBAs and Battle Royale), could mean trying to complete a game’s main story or main missions (e.g. platformers, adventures, RPGs, etc.), or could even mean challenging oneself by speedrunning to get the best time (e.g. Celeste) or trying to get zero deaths or even zero hits (e.g. Dark Souls).

It just all depends on the game itself. I find spending money to be less of a concern with “beating” games, because I think most developers are aware of the negative connotations of “paying to win”, though it’s still a good idea to look out for such games and be aware of them. I think there’s no purpose to beating a game, if people can just buy their way to achieve it.

One thing people looked forward is more time to spend playing games, especially if they’re out of school and have a part time job lol.

Football, Tactics and Glory has given a new spin to the soccer games.

I have FIFA 15 and before that FIFA 09. I try to wait at least 5 years in between sports games to get the most out of the changes because every year you’ll have titles that are the same or worse.

I remember seeing the FIFA video game series plastered around in the mid to late 2000s. I think FIFA is nice, but I wouldn’t recommend getting a FIFA game every year unless you’re an avid soccer fan, because there’s usually not a whole lot different.

I haven’t really played with game machines that many times and there aren’t really any left where I am from.

Kind of odd that Australians call it gaming machines or game machines instead of arcade machines, and kind of interesting that they have them in pubs and clubs. I wonder if they have it at malls or other venues, because they tend to be quite popular in those places in America.

I think gaming machines are neat though, but it’d be neater to see newer arcade games on them. I tend to see games like Pac-Man or Galaga, and it feels like it’s been like that for over 20 years, perhaps longer.

Sports games with esports scene are something alright!

I am interested to see VR grow.

My cousin has VR I’d have to go to his house and try it before contemplating on buying it, $500+ is a expensive tag.

Mobile games and improve graphics is kind of interesting when combined together, because as mobile technology improves, so do graphics generally. You look at mobile games 10 years ago and you look at mobile games today, and you can feel a lot of change from better performance to graphics.

Seeing skilled players playing against each other is entertaining.
