  • After not playing the game for seven years, it was time to return to WoW. Had previously played the game before my absence for about five years so the account was full of leveled characters. Also, had bought the […]

    • Nice. A game I need to start playing again is Runescape, i abandoned my character after a few days of levelling but i’m afraid i’ve already missed too many updates.

      • I have been playing again after a hiatus and it still has me hooked! When you once play Runescape, you will never truly quit.

    • Yep i can’t imagine coming back to a game after 7 yrs of absence, I feel like i would’ve missed too much. I tried with one of my childhood RPG’s but it was just too much for me

    • And when you do have time, there is a lot of things to spend it on!

    • What kind of PC did you have while you did play WoW?

    • Legion was a pretty good expansion alright!

    • Seven years is quite a long time. In that span of time of absence, revisiting a game might refreshen the gameplay experience. Plus there’s a lot of content in World of Warcraft.

  • With the online gaming industry growing exponentially year after year, many industry analysts have made it their job to report current market conditions on an ongoing basis. Although there are many different kinds […]

    • Yeah mmorpgs aren’t quite as popular as they once were, it’s sad to see. I think the decline won’t affect established games like Runescape or WoW but indie mmos possibly.

    • yeah, especially with steam the games you can play there are just far superior to social games on FB and a lot of games on steam still maintain the social aspect if there’s multiplayer

    • I think the decline of MMORPGs has to do mainly with the increase in popularity of other genres like Battle Royale and MOBA. For instance, once you complete story quests and craft everything you want to craft in an MMORPG, what else is there to do? Some MMORPGs have pretty good PvP which can keep players engaged in the MMORPG genre for a long time, but Battle Royale and MOBA have transformed PvP over the years that MMORPGs just can’t rival that.

    • Good list ive been playing Guts and Glory and i’ve enjoyed playing the official and custom made levels. I might upload screenshots to the media later.

    • Yup there’s still a few here that play AQ3D, but a lot of them left once they got their codes

    • I expected that Minecraft and Terraria, mby even Brawlhalla be on top 5 since they were one of the most played games on OGT.
Also am surprised that League of Legends arent on list at all. For few years it was the most popular game on forum

    • This is cool, i think they can definitely get inspiration from them especially the art style.

    • If it’s adsense then the ads might be tailored to your searches

    • Anime is usually a good inspiration to look at for newer games, especially for the RPG and MMORPG genres. I think the biggest inspiration from anime is mainly the art style, since there’s wide-appeal for that style. For example, Genshin Impact is probably the most popular ARPG of 2021, and that game has an “anime” art style.

    • Yea especially side scrolling online games and Minecraft are better with other people.

    • Yep, single player is no fun unless the game has a good campaign

    • Playing Minecraft can be as good of an experience regardless if you play it solo or with friends.

    • That is a reliable way to have more fun for sure!

    • Mine craft is fun when you have friends to play with. Thumbs up for this !!

    • Playing with friends is always the best way to play. It’s especially nice, when you can talk about a game with friends, ask them for help, or even show off a new game to a friend. I feel like the gaming experience was a lot better in the late 90s and early 2000s, especially when kids brought handheld consoles with them, because it created a stronger social bond. Nowadays, people just become friends with anonymous strangers on the Internet, and to be honest, it can feel awkward playing with online friends than real-life friends.

    • I have to say that meetup went pretty well even though everyone that participated couldn’t be present because of room limits. Next time is going to be better for sure!

    • Rex replied 7 years ago

I would suggest maybe asking Artix to open the 100 map next time

      • This should definitely happen for next meetup so we can have more people participate. Next meetup would be more official compared to last one we because of higher room limit. Artix could open that map or just change room limits for areas that we are going to visit during the meetup.

    • I wish i could have made it.

    • The meetup was successful hoping for next years meetup or when live release comes.

  • It’s very evident how the barrier between eSports and regular sports is blurring. With the recent advancements in technology, never before have people been this serious about gaming. Gone are the days when vi […]

    • Well Esports industry has been getting more popular as time has went on. I really didn’t get into watching any forms of it until i found out about Ultra Street Fighter 4 and i have been watching matches from Youtube and it’s interesting to watch. I am currently watching Street Fighter 5 Esport matches and i am having good time with it.

    • Future Gaming.

    • Rex replied 7 years ago

I’ve started watching the Overwatch esports series on youtube.

    • I can see Esports becoming more known.

    • Well you have to realize that the gaming industry is a huge industry. It isn’t all about eSports of course, and not all gamers are going to tune into eSports. If you were to create a pie chart, I think eSports would probably make up about 4% or less of gamers, whereas most of the other percentage would represent casual gamers, mobile gamers, etc.

Of course, this isn’t to undermine eSports in anyway. eSports is still trendy to this day and even popular on streaming sites like Twitch. I think it’s neither a fad (i.e. a trend that’s short-lived) nor is it the future of gaming (i.e. will change how people view or play games), simply just a culture, similar to how actual sports is a culture ingrained in everyday life.

    • there are a lot of business gaming now , pretty sure you can do one.

    • You sure can make living out of pretty much anything if you are passionate enough and gaming is no exception.

    • Rex replied 7 years ago

It’s possible if you have enough support from your fanbase

    • You just need to grind, grind and grind.

    • damn, were they all his accounts? if they were he probably lost money in the process especially if he spent a lotta money

    • Yeah anyone can .. If you have a team who can make a great game .. I’ll give an example .. AE !

    • Of course it’s possible, but might not be the most realistic option for most people. With eSports or competitive gaming, you need the right skills. With video game streaming or even commentary, you need the right personality. Every business, even gaming, requires some commitment, and I think it’s something most people, especially kids that daydream about venturing in the gaming business, don’t consider. Plus I think there’s an oversaturation in the gaming business, so it’s harder to find big success in gaming business, especially when gamers stick to specific things.

    • Wadu hek! I got rekt on a cheater one time when were supposed to land n our respective spots but suddenly we end up dying before even using our parachutes.

    • It sure is unfortunate to see people cheating in games like these, some people do literally anything to win regardless if it’s allowed or not.

      • some times they used aimbot to win

        • Aimbot sure is the most common cheat what i have seen being used. I remember seeing people using aimbot in TF2 and it’s nuisance to play against.

    • Aimbot is a nono…

    • Rex replied 7 years ago

It’s good they’re banning cheaters, one of the games I play they don’t know how to deal with them because they’re an indie game and they don’t wanna lose half their player base.

    • Yeah cheating in single players is fine but in multiplayer games it’s just wrong, especially ddosing or boosting.

    • I didn’t know PUBG had cheaters. I always knew that ROS had them tho, that’s why I stopped playing it. The problem I have with PUBG is the wifi connection. Myabe that’s just me but do you guys have probelms with connecting the game with your iPhone?

    • 150,000 players getting banned from PUBG is quite astonishing; I mean, that’s kind of a big number. But I guess it’s not a surprise, when you consider that there are several millions of players. SteamCharts only has records of concurrent players, and there were 1,334,170 concurrent players playing PUBG as of November 2017; but for total population, I would guess it’d be in the tens of millions.

    • I would personally wait when getting a brand new console rather than getting it as soon as i am able to. I want to wait so game library gets bigger and console price settles down. Right now i am not in need of getting a new gaming console.

    • Rex replied 7 years ago

I think the PS4 is a better gaming console but the Xbox is a better entertainment console. I think it would be better to wait for the reviews of the Xbox One X

    • Xbox for life.

      • I used to be a xbox fanboy until the PS4 came out, wasn’t planning on making the switch but i’m kinda glad i did.

    • I have played games on PS3 that have multiplayer and I haven’t had any problems at all with my internet connection.

    • I’ve never had a reason to get an Xbox. I’ve always thought of it as being an “inferior gaming device”, because it’s just a Microsoft-branded video game console that’s less powerful than most gaming PCs running Windows 10 despite marketing itself as a powerful console, and you can’t really customize the specs. Most people I know just play on gaming PCs, and sometimes use an Xbox controller to play games, but they don’t own an Xbox. Some people might disagree and may have some arguments to support Xbox, but personally, I think it’s just an overpriced console.

Plus Xbox is really only wildly popular in the western hemisphere, because it’s an American brand. In places such as Japan, there’s more hype for other consoles like Playstation and Switch.

And if I want power, I’d go for a gaming PC with custom parts suited for the games I want to play. If I want console-exclusive games, I’d go for a Switch since there’s a ton of first-party titles on that system. There’s not really an in-between, so I usually just skip Playstation and Xbox.
