Yes they can, they’ve been doing this for years and have quite a success to it. Their games are quality for free games. I love the devs with their humble backgrounds.

Lets hope that things stay that way.

I think Guild Wars is still going strong. ArenaNet’s next (third) expansion pack for Guild Wars is going to be “Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons” for 2022. Not sure what to expect, but it’s great seeing the game still doing well despite other genres like MOBAs and Battle Royale dominating the gaming scene these last 5 years.

I think having new RPGS, is a great for for people around the world to really socialize and help one another as a community. I know it’s ‘multiplying like rabbits’ however it’s a good thing. RPGs, personally is where I release my stress to. It’s one of my favorite sources of gaming. Other than that, great article.

Gaming is a way to relate to someone with a gaming background. It’s easy to talk people who you share interests with.

Not really a fan of role playing games I’m more of a fan of MMOs without the RPG factor, at least in the game I used to play it required to be more serious in your role.

ogreman wrote a new post, Before Subscribing to a MMORPG 9 years, 8 months ago

Great article, all solid points you should look out for before getting trying or getting hooked on a MMORPG, especially the character development part. You don’t want to invest time on a character if you won’t be happy with it months later.
-
Yeah, MMORPGs are about commitment and it certainly feels like it when you play a MMORPG with a monthly subscription fee.
-
-
Agree with graphics. Even if graphics are usually the least thing I look for in a game, you don’t wanna be playing a new game that’s outdated compared to other games.
-
If it plays well then graphics won’t matter as much to me.
-
Same I’m not too fussy with graphics which is why Im not mad when people say PC is superior than consoles in graphics
-
-
-
I tend to stick to one MMORPG myself, often a game that I know I’ll continue playing. It’s often too time consuming trying to play multiple MMOs, as there’s too much to try to keep up with. And I generally avoid subscription-based games (pay-to-play) such as WoW, because I feel like I just can’t make use of time effectively, if I’m already focused on playing other MMOs. Personally, I think free-to-play/freemium MMORPGs are the way to go.

ogreman wrote a new post, MMORPGs vs. Online RPGs 9 years, 8 months ago
First off lets start by defining MMORPGs and online RPGs. MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-playing Games) are huge pay-to-play online only games where hundreds to thousands of people play together in […]
-
In my opinion both can be considerably good, if you have friends to play with.
-
Pretty much any game can be better if played with a friend (if the game actually supports this)!
-
-
I have played Diablo III: Reaper of Souls quite a bit on my PS3 (all classes level 70 with 138 paragon as of posting this) and i can say that it was worth getting and it’s a really good Online RPG game!
-
I think online RPGs can be extremely fun to play, if they have action combat and complexity like diverse skill trees. MMORPGs still dominate parts of PC gaming, but ARPGs are gaining pretty good traction for mobile gaming. I think the biggest downside to MMORPGs, especially for mobile gaming, are features like “auto-questing”; might make the mobile experience easier, but it feels less rewarding. And some online RPGs for mobile are doing similar things now.

It depends if you think on lotr 3rd person or 1st person.I have played both games.but I dont know if you think on 1st person LOTR I think WoW wins cuz it has much better graphic and it has classes. And wow has very toxic community too,but I think that cant mire gameplay of this game. And if you think on 3d person for me lotr is better then WOW and LOL together cuz I love to make new tactics and I love strategical games more than 1st person,it also has great missions like (fighting with Sherlock in first part of LOTR)
-
I really like LOTR movies but game is not good at all at least for me in other hand World of Warcraft is awesome you have big world alot of quests to finish, good raids and awesome PVP as well….Don’t get me wrong Lord of the rings online is very good but i like more World of Warcraft because of these reasons also alot better mounts in Wow,Graphically speaking they are somewhere equal….In the end i’ll vote World of Warcraft

I think console gaming is great for sports game, but for shooters,it is awful, still ,I prefer PC,but nice article
-
Great thing about PC, even if you don’t like the mouse and keyboard, you usually can substitute it with a controller.
-
Xbox controllers are pretty good to use for that purpose!
-
-
The only consoles here I still have are the Xbox and PS1. My xbox I had to replace because the disc tray jammed.
-
Which Xbox? You mean Xbox 360?
-
-
Do you play Special force ?
-
I haven’t heard about it so I can only say that I haven’t played it.
-
-
When it comes to online gaming with consoles, I feel like there’s been a huge regression. I remember in the 3DS and Wii U era when you didn’t have to get a subscription just to play online games, plus the games were cheaper too. But now, you just buy a $60 game, and if you want to play that game online with friends, you have to also buy a subscription; even incentives (like having access to a library of classic NES/SNES games) just isn’t worth it.
So I tend to prefer console for single player experience, first-party titles, and indie games. But for strictly online gaming and for certain third-party titles, I stick with PC. PC is just a whole lot better for online gaming.

It’s an MMO with an oriental theme rather than the common fantasy theme. Character creation isn’t too bad since you can customize face type, body type, details, and hair style, but this game doesn’t really have a class system as far as I can tell, since the playable character seems to default as some soldier character. The game, however, does feature kingdoms, which are kind of like factions, where the 3 kingdoms are Wu, Wei, and Shu. Battle seems to be quite prominent in this game since there are various modes like capture, defeat, search, etc. But overall, I’d rate this game a 3/5; it just doesn’t shine since it’s strictly an MMOG as opposed to something more intricate like an MMORPG or an MMOFPS.

RYL: Path of the Emperor seems kind of an obscure MMORPG since I haven’t heard of it before, but it seems to be an MMO from 2004 or 2005. Obviously, the game is pretty old, so it doesn’t bear the best graphics, but it doesn’t look too bad; at least there are blades of grass in the game, whereas in other old games and even some modern games, I tend to see just textures of grass. User interface doesn’t seem that bad other than how it looks; seems like you can position and resize the chat window. PvP looks kind of fun, and from the videos I’ve watched of this game, it seems like the game has a pretty good playerbase, so I guess it’s not that obscure after all. Overall, I’d rate this game a 3.65/5; aside from the old age of this game, the core gameplay seems to be more PvP focused, and it doesn’t seem like the game emphasizes much on other elements that enrich an MMORPG like questing, PvE, story, and crafting.

A tactical first person shooter what will make your hearts beat faster for every shot fired or bomb exploded while playing the game. This game, similar to CS:GO, is a great FPS game where you try you quick thinking, quick reactions and accurate shooting to try and kill the opposing team. This is no easy task if your against the best of the best from all over the world. The rank system is good but what is makes it stand out from its competition is its mechanics. The mechanics is much easier to use and but the mouse be a bit sloppy. Overall, it is a great game to try and spend your time into.
-
Another shooting best game, Crossfire is really popular and mostly played game. This game is similar to CS series and Special force 2, But their differences is just the graphics and how the settings is done. This game is also fun to played tho, because CF many modes, many types for you to played. This game also have free m4a-1 when u complete the tutorial xD, The rank system of it is balanced and good, all you need to do is only hard work if u really wanted some rifles/snipes, but the bad on this game is, there’s many cheaters that are desperate, because they want to rank fast and collect some gps also. Those maps of it is also good, I mostly played team death match mode and always black widow map ? If I’m not mistaken. This game is really good 🙂 recommended ^7

Cross Fire is a nice online first-person shooter game, especially since it is free. What I like most about the game are the various guns the player can choose from; I usually go with an assault rifle because it is might favorite kind of weapon to use. The gameplay is addicting, and the graphics is moderately okay, though not comparable to more recent online first-person shooter games. I do enjoy playing through the different game modes that the game offers. I would recommend this game for those interested in free online first-person shooters, though it is not as great as shooters like CS:GO. Overall, I would rate this game a 3.9/5.

2.5/5 – This game was good in the early days but it’s old and outdated and hasn’t really aged well

-
-
FPS MMORPGs are not something that you see often.
-
It’s not like every idea works out.
-
Nice FPSRPG similar to Skyrim + Half life XD
-
Seems kind of interesting. It’s a fusion of MMO and third-person shooter, with role-playing elements like questing, crafting, PvP, PvE and player customization. Star of the game seems to be PvP though, with game modes like turf war, shootout, capture the zone, and tons more. Game also looks pretty good, utilizing Unreal Engine 3. Overall, I’d rate this game a 4.4/5; unfortunately the game shut down in 2017, but the game lasted a good 8 years it seems.
