Seems pretty good, and the game has everything you’d expect out of an MMORPG like PvP, dungeons, quests, mounts, etc. Graphics are dated, but doesn’t look too bad for a game from 2006. The feature that seems to shine most in this game is the pet system, since you can tame your own pets and train them. Overall, I’d rate this game a 4/5; the pet system is pretty cool, but I think there are better pet systems in other MMOs (such as Temtem).

Seems like a pretty fun beat ’em up game, and the graphics actually look pretty good. Kind of reminds me of fighting games like Street Fighter in some ways, but this game has full character customization which is more than I’d expect for a game this old. I also like how you can open the skill list, and clicking on a skill combo will actually show the combo; I think that feature’s kind of cool. Overall, I’d rate this game a 4.5/5; can definitely have a lot of fun with 1v1 combat.

It’s a neat MMORPG. Graphics is a mix of good and bad; character models seem pretty good and game uses an adequate amount of bloom and lighting, but textures aren’t the best, especially with the grass in the overworld which just don’t stand out that well. Pretty good selection of classes with six to choose from though, but unfortunately classes are gender-locked. The game does have two factions which is great, and there are the essential elements of an MMORPG like crafting and PvP. Overall, I’d rate this game a 4/5.

Not bad, but different from other space MMOs since it’s 2D and it’s a browser game. Tiled turn-based gameplay feels unique, but kind of outdated. Game isn’t as cohesive since there are navigation links you need to click if you want to do things like visit the trading outpost. But overall, I’d rate this game a 3.25/5; game just needs an overhaul.

Looks pretty fun, especially since it’s a car-themed MMO which aren’t as common. Feels very much like an MMORPG with features like PvP and crafting being most of the core gameplay. But compared to other car MMOs like Drift City, I do think I prefer Drift City over Auto Assault since that game has a better presentation and is more about racing than just your typical PvP. For an MMO focused on cars, I feel like Auto Assault would excel if it just had more game modes, especially a racing mode, but it’s sort of trapped in an MMORPG style game. So overall, I’d rate this game a 4.3/5.

Another pirate-themed MMO, but this one has graphics that’s richer in color and looks a bit more anime-ish. Personally I like the style of this game, and I think that makes it stand out more than the other pirate-themed MMOs. It’s available on Steam, and it looks like it receives frequent updates, so it’s nice that this game’s alive. Features seem pretty good, as the game features ships, dungeons, trade, fishing, guilds, etc. Overall, I’d rate this game a 4.5/5; the game just feels different from the other pirate games.

Looks kind of fun. Not the best 2D sprite artwork since it doesn’t employ techniques like dithering or proper lighting/materials, but the artwork is rich in texture. Game is quite content heavy as there are tons of maps to explore, which might be the result of the game being around for a couple of decades now. Game also has your classic tradeskills like cooking, fishing, mining, and more, so that’s kind of neat, and the essential RPG elements like a class system and quests. Overall, I’d rate this game a 4/5; it’s a solid RPG, but there’s not really a unique feature that stands out.

This has to be my favorite pirate/medieval ships mmorpg out there (if not the only one out there!!!). I simply spent hours playing it and during holidays as well (right before new year i remember the moment clearly!!).
You can choose which faction you want to be allied to and what class and after that the adventure begins!! I rate it 4/5 -
Nice to see another pirate-themed MMORPG; there aren’t a lot of MMOs like that. Also what’s great about this game (unlike most old MMOs) is that this one is still in operation, just under Vision Online Games instead of Portalus Games now. Graphics is also pretty good; I really the lighting on the water. In this game, careers are equivalent to classes, and each career has its own skill tree, so that’s pretty cool. Ships are also a thing in this game and are important for combat, which makes a lot of sense for a pirate-themed game, and the size of the ship determines the maneuverability. Overall, I’d rate this game a 4.5/5; probably one of the few pirate-themed MMO I’d consider worth playing and far better than other pirate-themed MMOs like Voyage Century and Tales of Pirates.

Seems like a fun standalone. This one has amazing cinematics with pretty good voice acting, and the graphics actually looks nice, especially the bloom. Overall, I’d rate this standalone a 4.6/5; I can definitely see myself getting entrenched in the storyline and gameplay.

It’s an alright MMORPG. Not the best graphics, and you can easily tell from the textured graphics. Combat is kind of cool though, especially the skill system. Game is a bit lacking on story, but you can probably have some fun with the PvP in the game. Overall, I’d rate this game a 3.65/5.

Really old strategy game, maybe old ,but it is gold.I like it.It is really addictive, and it is challenging. If you like challenges, try it out,for sure.
-
Not bad, especially considering this game was released in 2001. I can’t even think of an MMORTS as old as this one. RTS gameplay seems simple enough, but a bit dated since this one is all about the 2D isometric gameplay rather than 3D gameplay or more intricate RTS gameplay that’s more common today. But I think the game could be fun to play for players that like a 2D isometric strategy game; personally, it’s not really my type of game. Overall, I’d rate this game a 3.5/5; I just don’t think this game has aged that well.

Title of the article says Ferion, but description is about Fiesta. Anyway, Ferion is a space-themed turn-based strategy game from 1999 with elements of empire-building developed by Hail of Bullets Software. It’s an alright game, but does not really look as fun, especially since a lot of space-themed strategy games can feel somewhat dull and Ferion isn’t any different, and the game hasn’t exactly aged that well, especially since it has dated graphics. Overall, I’d rate Ferion a 3/5.

It’s an old MMO that dates back to 2007 for the North American release. Has an isometric look to it, but the 2D graphics is actual pretty good with rich colors and an anime art style. Gameplay is kind of unique compared to other MMOs, since it features cards, rather than your traditional MMORPG skill system, so that’s pretty cool. The game did shut down in 2014 though, but it looks like Ntreev Soft (the developer of the game) is working on a mobile MMORPG called Trickster:M which is only available in Korea right now. Overall, I’d rate this game a 4/5; the card battle system makes the game stand out from other MMOs.

Game is kind of obscure to find since BattleMaster appears to be a common keyword in search engines, but I think I finally found it after typing BattleMaster RPG. Seems kind of cool, but a very old browser game. The site for the game describes it as being lightweight and slow paced, so I’m guessing the main demographic would be casual players. Game also seems to be receiving updates, although a bit infrequent, but it’s still nice to see a game updated at least since a lot of old games just don’t survive that long. Overall, I’d rate it a 3.88/5; not exactly my cup of tea, but great for gamers looking for an RPG that’s a little more casual.

Pretty good for an MMORPG from 2006-2007. Graphics might not have aged well today, particularly with the 3D, but the game actually looked pretty good for its time with rich and vibrant colors, anime style and even the drawn out NPCs. I really like how when you speak to an NPC, there’s artwork of the character to accompany their dialogue; it just makes the game stand out more. Also plenty of features like PvP, guilds, and a somewhat extensive in-game currency with copper, silver, gold, and gems. Overall, I’d rate this game a 4.5/5.

It’s a mix of space simulation and MMORPG, though the game leans more towards a space simulation since there aren’t a whole lot of RPG elements in this game to really consider this an MMORPG. Game features real-time PvP combat, so that’s kind of cool. Game can get a bit boring with harvesting resources and managing colonies, but that’s mainly because of the genre itself. Graphics are alright; I don’t really expect a whole lot out of graphics from a game from 2004. Overall, I’d rate this game a 3.5/5; doesn’t seem too bad for a space simulation game.

Not really a fan of this MMORPG. I think it’s cool that it explores a horror theme since too many MMORPGs tend to explore a fantasy theme, but I just don’t like that it’s isometric 3D since it feels too old-school to games like Habbo. The world is isometric, and your character only moves in 8 directions (4 adjacent and 4 diagonal). It was first released in 1997 for South Korea, so to be fair, I shouldn’t expect full 3D. Game does have races like vampires, slayers, and ousters, and seems to have a horror themed story, so I guess that’s kind of cool. Overall, I’d rate this game a 3.85/5; I just don’t think this game has aged well.

Pretty fun fighting game. It’s kind of like Smash in that you battle on one big platform, but this game has 3D where you don’t just move left and right, but can also move towards and away which just makes this game stand out a bit more. 3D mmorpg with anime graphic style
Good game overall nice gameplay, worth checking out
Mmorpg video game but I dont like it because of bad gprahic, but gamepaly is solid
Solid mmorgp game with very good gameplay which is completed with solid graphic,my suggestions
The first anime style mmorpg that i ever played!! This is one of the games that reminds me my childhood!! There are 4 characters of which you could choose and those have specific classes:
Lance: Crusader, Sharpshooter, Voyager
Carsise: Champion
Ami: Cleric, Seal Master, Voyager
Phyllis: Cleric, Seal Master, Crusader, Sharpshooter, Voyager
You could enter dungeons, events and gain items from them.. You had sea fights and your guild to help you..
The game also implemented costumes from different anime like naruto, bleach, one piece!!
Though as hard it is for me to admit it.. it was p2w… too bad that as of February 29, 2016 it closed… Ah the childhood memories!!
I rate it 4.5/5!!!
I think Tales of Pirates is actually Pirate King Online. The two games look pretty much the same that I can’t tell the difference, at least from the gameplay footages I’ve seen, and even Wikipedia seems to imply that they’re the same. There’s also Tales of Pirates 2 which looks pretty similar to Tales of Pirates, just with slight UI improvements. Anyway, I think it’s an alright game; I would probably rate the sequel “Tales of Pirates 2” a 3.2/5 though since that game doesn’t do much different from the original and give Tales of Pirates a solid 3/5.
