S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky

Year 2011. Five years passed since the Second Disaster, which eclipsed the events of April 1986. The Zone is shaken by frequent and powerful blowouts, which move anomaly fields, opening new routes to previously inaccessible locations. Stalker factions fight for the new territories and key points. A lot of stalkers die, but newbies keep on arriving. The action takes place one year prior to the events of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, one year before Strelok's most successful trip to the center of the Zone – the third one. We will learn about Strelok and his squad from another character's vantage point. The Zone is waiting for you ahead, new locations and unknown threats, spatial holes and monsters hiding in the fog, pitch-black nights and saving rays of a rising sun. Try to avoid anomalies and hide from blowouts, discover the Zone and collect artifacts, cure radioactive irradiation and fight for any stalker faction you like! Only then you will uncover the truth about Strelok and how he happened to get inside the death track and receive the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. tattoo on his arm.

Comment: Clear Sky was a disappointment after the original. Both had plenty of bugs, but the first was much better in every way.

Comment: I really enjoyed this game. I played the first one as well, and I think this was a worthy prequel. It added a lot of content and options, so it wasn't a lot of the same old...

Of course, without the most recent patch, forget about it, but with it, I'd recommend this game to any FPS fan.

I played through it on Master, and I must say, I still love the AI, they will actually try and flank you, and throw grenades like pro-ball pitchers... The addition of Factions was great, although I found myself reloading a pre ending save just to join one, because other than the beginning I didn't find it necessary, or even beneficial to join one... I also love the selection of weapons and ammo, just like the first one, maybe even a little better than the first one. Artifacts were also more rare and often located in the middle of several deathtraps, which made their whole existence much more realistic, rather than finding twelve of them in some field with one anomaly like in SoC.

The one thing that did not sit well with me was the ending. Overall, considering that it's only the prequel to another prequel, I'm okay with that! I say it's a great game!
