Vox Imperium

Vox is a graphical browser-based multiplayer strategy game which allows for casual play over month-long campaigns. Players compete for resources and territory on huge worlds that can accommodate hundreds of simultaneous players. Vox draws from a rich history of strategy gaming, drawing elements from Civilization, Settlers of Catan, and Go, spliced together with an asynchronous web interface to create unique gameplay that will challenge both the novice and the seasoned tactician.

Comment: The game would be ok but the community makes or breaks this type of game. It has a clickish unhelpful community and childish chat.

Comment: This game is great and has a very helpful community. The game is like civilizations but focuses less on tech and more on area/resource control. Each game usually has around 30 players to compete with and different game settings allow you to play once or a day or all day long. You can even join multiple games to occupy you during downtime.

Comment: A must try for strategy gamers. A brief trip to the forum will give you all the info you need to enjoy your first game. You can fully participate in a game in less than one total hour per day. The game interface is smart and helpful for the player, even if it is a trifle slow. The interaction of the resource model with the random map for each new game ensures a unique strategy each time.
