AQ3D Virtual reality support !

Discussion in 'Adventure Quest 3D' started by Aerobous, May 5, 2018.

  1. Unless there's more focus on VR technology and also affordability to consumers, but it would still be more work for the developers unless they get a big company to take over. For instance, I like the idea of an omnidirectional treadmill potentially having a use for VR, like for being used to explore maps, and I think 3D MMORPGs in general have a good bit of exploration and could greatly benefit from VR in that regard to create a new experience, but also encourage health and fitness. But considering AQ3D's maps aren't as open world and their game is narrowed down to PC and mobile, that idea just doesn't seem feasible. There's not really much else I could see VR being useful for, even if the developers manage to change the perspective of the game into first person.

I have seen footage of that omnidirectional treadmill before and it does look interesting to say at least. VR for game like AQ3D would just give us a chance to experience the game in the first person in a more immersive way.

Well, I kinda expect that and kinda didn't but hey, it's a thing now apparently. Skyrim is a single player rpg though so there are more implications to go for VR support.

There hasn't been any plans for that though and it was just a joke during April Fools 2017.

That joke is not funny at all lol hahah I mean if they said it as a joke maybe they are planning as well ?

  8. Was on an April Fool's Day, and there are many jokes that don't get realized. They had the VR joke for AQWorlds as well, so it's not something that was exclusive to AQ3D. I mean, if the idea does get popularized enough, they very well could implement VR, but I think most players would see VR as something unnecessary for the game.

I do find to be redundant to have VR in AQ3D right now or just at all. I am willing to bet that the majority of players don't even have VR to begin.

They are going to be the majority of the active playerbase at some point so having their interested is important and I doubt that many are interested in VR.

That is the very reason how unlikely this is to happen.

It's good enough that our characters in game can experience VR with them at least.

I never realized that our characters are actually seeing everything in VR whenever we wear those goggles. Why did I never think of that?

I find it very difficult for that to happen, even more so in AQ3D that has so much to develop as an MMORPG, so I doubt that the company is thinking about that
