Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is really good, very JRPG, very not for everyone but definitely very good... if that makes sense. Started it up and lost 4 hours lol. The visuals are little rough on handheld but it's not THAT bad, docked the game is pretty nice looking. Switch is definitely holding the game back though. I've been to one pretty big area so we'll see once I hit even larger ones but so far so good on performance. Has had some epic cutscenes too. Music is crazy good! Voice acting on the other hand leaves a lot to be desired and lip-sync is really bad at times. Really really good tutorial too! Not gonna do a full review but for those who like these types of games, it's really good.

In other news, picked up Google's spy device today. $30 and extend holiday returns = great time to try one. It's interesting so far, pretty handy for questions. It's a great move by Google as I could easily see it pushing people deeper into Google services... for those that don't use them, the device loses some functionality because the big tech companies just don't play nice together but it's knowledge database is still very strong. Overall... interesting. Feels kinda cool to have a Star Trek like AI to ask anything too. I also give it mega props for handing multiple users, easily recognizes each person in the house (an uses their accounts) without issue.

Been playing a lot of F1 2016 lately, while it's not the most realistic racing game I am really enjoying the strategic aspects of the game. Very few racing games these days have much in the way of pit strategy and tire choice. Just recently I had a race where I knew rain was coming, I keep asking for updates an gambled the rain would start before my tire ran out. Ended up pushing the tire well past it's recommended point and thankfully on the last possible lap for the tire it started raining. These gambles could've gone completely wrong but it just worked out and saved me a pit stop that everyone else took thus giving me a huge advantage over cars that were otherwise a little faster. Fun stuff.

This past weekend we finally completed a goal that was like 6 years in the making... if not longer lol. We finally got rid of this like 300lb CRT tv, it's been in the way for what seem like forever and we never got rid of it because it's just so darn heavy. Cost $25 but it's finally gone! I'm so glad it's gone and since TV have gotten so much lighter I'll never have to deal with it again! I feel bad for the kid with the cart at the place we took it though, he's like just load it on the cart and I'll take care of it... LOL I don't think he had any idea what he just signed up for, RIP that poor kid... I hope he got help.

Have had my Google Home Mini for a little while now and been pretty impressed with it. Even bought a second one to serve as a night radio/alarm etc. For that purpose it's speaker is a bit lacking, it's not terrible but not great either. It also doesn't have a AUX port so no external speaker for you... Google didn't pay up for the bluetooth license either so that's out as well. Can be used with other speakers via a Chromecast Audio but that's just convoluted and weird. Anyways for what I wanted it for, it gets the job done. Very happy. Unbeatable value.

That all said, I've found the device pretty useful overall too. I like that Google focused on natural communication rather than having to do robo commands and it's seamless ability to work with multiple people/accounts really sets it apart from other devices. I wouldn't pay $100s for one but at the $29 sale price this month it's been pretty great value for what all it can do and since most of it's limitations are server side, it will only get better with time.

Got some important appointments coming up, just the thing ya want to end the year no? That's life I guess. Just gotta keep pushing through. Fun times. /s

SE experiment has gone pretty well, finally started adjusting to the small size and it doesn't quite bother me anymore. It's weird adjusting to not using one device for all off computer consumption though, instead my SE is my phone/general reader/emails/all day carry etc an my old phone has become more like a home tablet for off PC media consumption. I'd rather not split between the too but trying to use the SE for video media is just insanely bad.

I'm also really liking iOS, it's got some really weird things but also some thing that I can really appreciate. iOS 11 has actually been pretty buggy so I unfortunately haven't got to experience this legendary stability iOS is always hailed for but I've already gotten 2 OS updates, day of release, no issue.

Not gonna go into all of it here but yea been pretty happy with iOS after adjusting. Definitely miss things from Android, like the notification system and a dedicated back button but iOS definitely has it's perks too. if iPhone weren't so darn expensive I'd probably consider full on switching but I can't justify the premium for the bigger devices. Still, it's been fun and given me a new appreciation for iOS.

Disney has agreed to buy most of Fox, it still has to be approved and will likely take upwards of a year to finalize but they are trying to make it happen. Between them and AT&T working on finalizing the Time Warner deal, two players are about to own a large part of the entertainment market. Kinda scary that literally 2 companies will be in control of the majority of mainstream movies an tv shows. I guess only time will tell.

Two of the biggest things to note for me are Disney will now own 60% of Hulu and they are also getting Fox Sports Regionals, which will effect a lot of sports fans across MLB, NHL and NBA. How they'll handle the sports is yet to be known but we should all be safe until next season. Hulu wise Disney's CEO has already said they plan on keeping Hulu around and it will have a more adult focus, it seems they plan to use it as a digital platform for most of Fox's stuff. Disney branded stuff and anything that can go under the Disney brand will go to their new Disney streaming service that's coming in the next couple years.

Pistons have come back to win 3 straight, none of them were all that confidence inspiring but at least they aren't free falling anymore. Basketball is a weird sport like that, anything can happen. Sometimes I swear having a good psychologist might be more valuable than a good coach, so much of it seems to be keeping everyone mentally stable. Few guys get down on themselves and it just seems to spread and suddenly the whole team sucks.

Kinda slacked off on my Animal Crossing Pocket Camp play an now might not be able to finish the Christmas event, rip. Game just got a big update with some QoL stuff and gardening, nice to see some new features already. It's a hard game to play continuously though, it's pretty repetitive an needs more to do. An more personality, the villagers feel a lot more scripted and flat.

Sad to hear about the death of Angry Grandpa last week, a youtube channel I grew up and watched. :( I haven't heard about him in a couple years so when I heard about the news I was kinda taken by surprise. It was a channel that started in 2007 or 2008 where his son would film his father at his most rage moments and in recent years it turned into a channel where he would pull pranks on him.
