SBA is pretty unique when it comes to it's model and it makes it attractive to farm. It's a reskin of BLoD and there is no way to get BLoD through normal gameplay means so it's not surprising why players like it.

  2. I don't think it's necessarily because of the model it uses, but rather just because of the 'collectors mentality'. People will collect almost anything, and when rumors of Doom Ripper, Soulborne Axe, and Traveler's Pack first came out, people went crazy over them. If I was to speak for the model itself, I'd probably prefer a more unique model that doesn't borrow from BLoD, maybe a longer handle with a round pommel and a sash and a more curved edge for the blades, maybe even asymmetrical to give more distinction.

Soulborne Axe is literally the only axe with that model that is obtainable by players if we don't count Artix giving his axe out. Of course players would go for it because of its model because it's practically the only one that players can use.

  7. It's actually easy to get the sword, once there are less players in Mystcroft, because you don't have to wait for a boss timer when you can just reset the map. I got it within one day in mid-November when people were still busy farming at the concert arena.

    The trick is:
    1. Go to Trollukstein's Lab.
    2. Exit out of the lab into an empty instance of Mystcroft Town (and search at the two spots near the lab where a boss could spawn [I don't even bother with the third spot because it's far away])
    3. If no Horseman, go back to the Lab and enter Mystcroft Town again to reset the boss. The map has to be empty in order for the boss to reset.
    4. Invite players to help you kill the Horseman (or solo the boss with Paladin class and potions).
    5. Rinse and repeat until you find the sword.

Sometimes you'll see players enter Mystcroft Town when you're reset the boss at an empty instance. I usually just invite them to farm along and ask for them to cooperate. Otherwise, I switch to another server or wait until they leave. It tends to be difficult performing the trick when it's still October (since a bunch of people are still playing through Mogloween), but it tends to be the easiest around mid-November.

I have have been in a group that did this trick and it was pretty effective way to go around the spawn timer.

  9. I think more players should be doing this trick to save time, but some players are too lazy to leave the map and rejoin and will just go AFK until the boss spawn timer runs down. This trick would be useful for other things like farming for drops from Ancient Evil in Darkhurst, but there are usually players in Darkhurst which makes it a little inconvenient. Right now, it's the best time to farm for drops from Killer Clawg in Pointe Less Isle (since there usually aren't players there around this time of the year), so you can prepare early and not have to farm from that boss when AE releases new gear (especially craft gear) for their summer event.

Another thing is that not everyone knows about this trick thus they don't cooperate with players that are using the trick. There are many other reasons why some players don't cooperate with players using this trick be it intentional or not. I suppose you could do that trick with Killer Clawg but doing that is based on the assumption that there is going to be more craft gear with those old materials and that isn't necessarily going to be the case. For example players who farmed Underworld materials did get a good pay off when Arena of Souls came out but is it going to happen again? AE can just decide to make new materials that you can't farm beforehand.

  11. AE tends to always rehash the same formula (they've done it with old Mogloween and old Frostvale drops for new craft items), so might as well make an assumption than wait until you're forced to wait and grind with other players. Even if it ends up being a waste of time, it's a lot better than wasting a lot more time. I think with any area that's level scaled (especially a seasonal area), we can expect AE to reuse drops for newer gear. And I think it's also nice to farm early, because you never know how hectic your schedule may be later on (especially considering the game does go overboard with its grinding).

I can see them use old materials but that doesn't mean they couldn't add new materials to go with them to craft those new items. MMORPGs are time investments so you should expect to lose time sometimes not getting things done fast enough for various reason like spawn timers, crafting timers and etc.

  13. Of course they can, but AE's usually time-crunched with other releases (particularly main releases). If they spent a lot of time adding new materials for new monsters in a new map for new craft gear (for a seasonal release), then they lose time for their main releases and become off-balance on their weekly release schedule. I would personally like to see them allocate more time for better releases instead of rehashing the same thing over and over again, but we just have to deal with what we get. I do think they could get better acclaim if they didn't rehash things; for instance, I've seen a lot more people than usual complain about how the new concert is the same exact skeleton as the concert from two months ago and how boring it is grinding for the same material all over again, so it's always better to have new things, and hopefully AE can do that at some point (maybe if players are more vocal enough to the devs instead of talking about it in-game).

AE staff who work on AQ3D have to work on so many things that it's not a surprise that they reuse same things over and over again and that release schedule doesn't help one bit. The way AE operates AQ3D just doesn't allow fresh content to be released on every release and honestly it's quite a lot to ask for considering the size of AQ3D developer team. I didn't expect to there to be another concert event so soon, but that did explain why Yokai Island and some other releases have been delayed several times now. New ways to get old materials would be nice.

  15. Hopefully they can adjust schedules to accommodate new drop items, or just not release new seasonal releases if time just doesn't allow much when it comes to quality. And I don't think anybody truly minds a main release getting delayed... most people would rather finish one saga at a time than have several sagas to play through. Even having no new seasonal release to play through (to push out more quality main releases), I don't think people would mind. People who aren't as critical generally don't mind any direction that the game goes.

I don't mind a main release getting delayed if it actually comes out without being in an unfinished state and it should be expect that there are going to be delays with main releases. Seasonal releases take time from main releases and we just have to deal with that because AE is not going to drop their traditions that easily.

  17. I think they can focus on other seasonal releases, if they focus less on already-existing seasonal releases. Instead of Mogloween 2019, they could have done a Harvest 2019 for the Thanksgiving week. Instead of Frostval 2019, they could start on Heroes Heart Day 2020 with a full map and everything instead of just items in a shop. Would also be nice to see the in-game version of St. Patrick's Day and some of the other holidays, especially towards the summer months like a 4th of July release. Only thing is they'd have to make new maps and everything, which does take away time, but I'd prefer that than new items added to already-existing seasonal events.

Having a variety of seasonal releases to play through would feel a lot better... more fluid, and there'd be a variety of gear as well. Grinding won't feel as stagnant and repetitive as it'd be something different, and there would be a lot of new drops to farm for (craft materials, equippable item drops, etc.).

That will probably lead to there being less new seasonal content per event if they want to keep things fresh. We did have Grenwog once in AQ3D, but it hasn't went anywhere and that's probably going to be the case for those new seasonal events as well.
