    Added to the list of possibilities but changed to monthly due too the newsletter being monthly. Think we should try to keep everything like this too monthly whenever possible.

    It's a community project, your free to do whatever you want. However these are things we absolutely need:

    Newsletter Title
    Intro
    Layout ideas for the post

    Once the thread itself is created (hopefully today), we're gonna need content collected. Example when a new Review of the week is posted, it should be added to the newsletter thread, so at the end of the month we'll have all four already in one spot.

    Also need to determine what exactly should be included, like Cat mentioned earlier, need to keep it simple, interesting and to some extent short. For now I think the focus should be on the three needs above... once we have a layout and start plugging content in... even using placeholders, it'll likely be easier to determine what and how much to include... for any cut content maybe some of the ideas could rotate each month.

    Looks pretty good, the biggest issue is the colors, we'll have to find a way to do something about that. The gap was caused by no content post being selected. I'm confident with a template change and a few changes of the settings it's gonna look nice.

    Like Kingsfield mine ended up in my inbox, going by Cat's links it might of been the number of links. Which email provider do you use?

    Looks like Newest Members, it's probably gonna need to be disabled or turned down a bit, to reduce the number of links.

    So, so far we've got two out of three. Hopefully when/if some more of the Royal Ogre's chime in it'll help confirm/add to these results. We'll have to do another test once the newsletter is further along to see if it changes anything.

    Ok, not sure how it'll look in practice but this is what I put together for a possible layout. Still might play with the settings some... I tried to include all the ideas for content in the layout but we don't have to include them all in the newsletter itself. Still needs a few items as noted in the layout itself.

    Since amount of links can be an issue I'm thinking Giveaways should get first priority then the rest depending on how important a link would be. We can also use tags on the forum to link to multiple threads via one link.

    Next big step is the thread who's first post will be the content post for the newsletter needs to be created. It'll also double as a place to track set content like review of week and submit content.

    It credits the post creator automatically therefor I think Ogreman should create the thread. As a community project it wouldn't be fair to credit any one person aside from the Admin. All contributors can be credited in a list at the end of the post or some other method, if you guys have ideas post them.

    If he or she defers, I will pick a random active member who has not been in the spotlight before and he or she will be featured (the one deferring will have the option to choose who to defer to I guess)

    Yes but as I suggested a while back it should be the previous (current right now) member of the month as it gives a whole month to get something together. If you use the member of the month that'll be in the newsletter issue itself (being voted on right now) then you only have a couple days, which in my opinion doesn't leave enough time to account for being sick or leaving for a couple days etc.
